  1. My 12 year old has tried some of it and found parts of it too complex so I'd say it's for older range than her if you are basically working through everything. There's definitely parts she could complete though. Sent from my LG-H815 using Tapatalk
  2. It can be worth thoroughly looking through do not disturb settings because some have options like automatically allowing any number that rings twice within a time frame to sound so those unexpected emergency calls have a good chance of getting through. Sent from my LG-H815 using Tapatalk
  3. My kids are slow losing teeth. My eldest had one pulled because it hadn't come out in a timely manner. My kids have both had adult teeth come in in front of baby teeth. The baby teeth do sort themselves out in our experience.
  4. My eldest was around 7 months. Youngest was 2 1/4.
  5. It sounds like fruit jelly sweets but I've never heard of them indidually wrapped. But they're nearly always in a little box.
  6. Could you buy a core wardrobe in budget friendly options then let her add some fun and more expensive things to that? This seems to be what's happened with my 12 yr old. I tend to find a couple of styles she likes in each type of clothing respecting her general taste then buy enough of that to cover day to day wear then she'll add a few tops or other bits as she comes across things she likes.
  7. My dad had lewy body dementia. His earlier symptoms ranged from him just losing his spark His quick wit and intelligence kind of losing its edge and then progressive struggles with doing normal things. He would struggle with things like making himself a light meal, there would be a high occurence of mistakes like I remember him putting a bowl on a hot ring on the hob and it exploding whilst the pan of soup was cold. Like a lot of the mistakes we can all make from time to time but they became constant. He would get confused when out and about, just losing things which progressed to some weird paranoid behaviour or him sort of realising he couldn't cope dropping whatever he was carrying or doing and heading home. In the early stages people in our local town would often be bringing us things he had left in strange places. He would also buy strange things. His mobility reduced too and he was depressed. I was quite young as he died in my late teens so I don't remember much about anything beyond that but my mum thinks his decline was quite long and slow before he became someone who needed intense care.
  8. Where I am the roads are typical British short wiggly mess which I guess are unsuitable so it automatically plays in other parts of the world. It's been Germany, Spain and Mexico so far.
  9. I agree with parks. I've got one kid who doesn't travel well and is very high energy, an hour or so of park time in the morning calms him enough to be able to do more focused things afterwards.
  10. Side by side doubles are a bit of a nightmare in small shops. I nearly always used a sling but mine have a slightly larger age gap. A lightweight umbrella stroller and a sling might be your best option. An alternative is something more substantial like the Phil and teds or Jane pushchairs that have a small footprint but you can put two seats on. They could be difficult on public transport though but on the cusp of ok. I see a lot of Phil and Ted's buggies about where I am because they're good on rough ground. Alternatively If there are two adults could you take two umbrella strollers? I had a Quinny stroller for a while which was great for travel but they're poor on rough ground.
  11. I think everywhere should be quieter but it's not the general hubub of people going about their business that I find invasive and overwhelming but the music and televisions. I have been in a silent airport and that was a bit creepy, it was just empty. I'd love birdsong as an alternative to music in public places.
  12. I was thinking about this recently. I think the style of food that we traditionally do in Britain is extremely easy to do really badly turning it into bland heavy stodge but we've had such a focus on food and cooking in the last decade or so that maybe people are more aware of how to avoid the stodge. Done right it's really nice.
  13. I have noticed some difference in pastry between the local traditional bakeries that make pasties and the larger chain ones. The small bakeries tend to have a really thin tender pastry that is much nicer than the big chain bakeries where it's often heavy and greasy and just doesn't taste as nice. I'd love to know what the difference in recipe is. I think they're both vegetarian as they're the same across the who range of fillings including meat free ones. Homity pies are another type I see locally but less frequently. They've always been really nice and usually vegetable and cheese filled rather than meat.
  14. I reckon about 30 maybe. I'm hard on my clothes so I end up replacing most of my T shirts and at least a couple of pairs of jeans each year but I wear most of the same stuff all year. I bought a new coat this past winter.
  15. I live in the land of the pasty so we eat them regularly but even here I think big meat pies are less popular than they used to be.
  16. I had ferritin that was 4 a few years ago. I personally had to experiment to find iron I got on with the prescribed option is so harsh. I also found that I did better when I eventually started taking B12 too. Before that it felt like I wasn't making much permanent improvement.
  17. My eldest has done one level of the Animation Course and is signed up for another. It's brilliant. I recommend it. There's also some animation/illustration on Jam and also Pixar in a box on Khan Academy.
  18. I have a Brother 9020cdw colour laser printer. Its fine for printing colour documents but I'd not use it for actual artwork of any kind. I love it though for day to day printing it's a work horse and much easier to live with than the nightmare succession of inkjet printers I had before it.
  19. I found my daughter did better with a later bedtime around that age. She just wasn't sleepy enough on the earlier bed time schedule and would get really stressed about not being able to sleep which made it a problem. When I stopped making it an issue it mosly resolved itself because she could hang out in her bedroom drawing or reading for a while and naturally wind down without thinking she should be asleep. All she had to do was be doing something calm and no screens.
  20. Skechers go walk are really comfy and don't really need any breaking in.
  21. I had gas and air for one of my births and paramedics brought it with them last year when my eldest dislocated her kneecap. She seemed to take more of a while to get it out of her system and got really silly and they said that was normal for some people. I think it's ideal for quick procedures if you get on with it.
  22. I wake up raring to go, I'm a morning person but my stomach seems to be on a slight delay so I don't feel hungry for quite a while. I also don't really like breakfast food it tends to all be carby or sweet and it just makes me queasy. I do eat breakfast but I tend to leave it for a few hours after I wake up. I think as long as your son is having water and getting to eat lunch relatively early I wouldn't worry.
  23. I don't buy things I don't need but I might buy a slightly different version of something so I can get it locally. One thing that annoys me is that our local businesses haven't moved with the times so it's often actually hard to use them vs using amazon or big chain store. There are so many basics I can't buy and most of the local businesses have no internet presence.
  24. Bic evolution pencils are wood free resin. They do ones with and without erasers but the ones with erasers are harder to find.
  25. I find it most frustrating on women's costs. I've got some beautiful coats with terrible pockets. They could all do with being deeper so I could put my phone, keys and wallet in all at once and not need a bag.
