  1. I just got rid of all of DS's clothes he's outgrown. Three boys worth of memories. :sigh: it stinks when babies grow up.
  2. So, I'm wondering how did they do DNA testing on Richard III (or potentially the boys' bodies) to prove who they were? Did they have samples or is it a descendent thing? Anyone know?
  3. I finally got them to stop coming after I pointed to the cows and chickens in our backyard and stated that's where we got our meat. Although he then wanted to talk me into pork.
  4. DH loves club soda so he uses it to make that most of the time and then adds limes or concentrated juices afterwards.
  5. I'm sorry. You've been very strong through all of this.
  6. We did Lifepac for health. Just because it's required for Texas graduates so I figured we would use it as an easy elective. then she can study what she likes later while still making it seem like dd is doing school like the ps. It's a check mark.
  7. This more or less what I have and the big side is quite deep. I had a single sink in the previous house and hated it. This is the best of both worlds.
  8. Yup. This is standard practice. It has been for years. Doctors are different than the hospital. In my experience no anesthesiologist is ever in network. Same with ambulances. But then when you need one, you're not really in a position to argue.
  9. 1vba, 4 csections. My dr implied I should be done with the last one, but we were anyways so I didn't push it.
  10. I'm so glad we live in a small ward and don't have to change times. :D I just spent all of church being a hall mom to the baby. I get released from primary and still can't attend classes. And to all the moms, relax. The transition from nursery is always horrid. Every parent of a new sunbeam was in primary yesterday. I thought it was hilarious. I won't next year when I'm doing it, of course. Otherwise we had a good Sunday. It was DH's birthday and I ruined the first batch if frosting but the second turned out good enough that I could forget about it.
  11. I'd sit down with both DH and DS and ask DS if he wants the priesthood? If he does and can truly express why, can DH accept that and let him get sustained? Then let DS have some time to pray and respond. Days, weeks, months, whatever. But he has to be firm in his reasons and everyone else is doing it isn't a good one. It would help DS with his testimony and maybe your DH as well.
  12. I'm trying to it this year but digitally. I made the switch a few years ago. But I have to say the kits are really cute. They make me want to go back to paper scrapping.
  13. I had my iTunes acct hacked before. I now only use prepaid cards. Apple tries to blame other people, but multiple charges ($800) only on iTunes (through my Paypal acct) means it was iTunes that was hacked, not my card. PayPal reversed the charges. I wasn't the only that weekend as well.
  14. I center pull it and then put it in a ziplock bag. I snip a corner and thread the yarn through. It works well for center pull and non center balls. I can also slip my needles (I always use circs) in the Baggie when I stop and then not loose stitches. You can kind of see on my project here: http://www.ravelry.com/projects/TexasRachel/sallah-cowl
  15. Brooklyn Public Library. It's $50 for non-state residents. It has a huge library of ebooks. One of the largest. Fairfax VA has another large one as well. Both of them took about a week for me to sign up. The Free Library of Pennsylvania has a huge collection as well, but you have to mail in your application. I'm told the Seattle library is huge as well, but you have to apply in person. But the Brooklyn Library is big enough that I'm happy with it.
  16. I have an Eureka Envirosteamer. I based my purchase upon the reviews at amazon. I love it. I think I paid $80.
  17. I believe you're correct. My dad was a PA and he had more freedom than a nurse. Quite often he was the one running the clinic, but there was a dr in another city that was his supervising dr. It does depend upon the state though. My dad could write RXs for narcotics. In some states nurses can, in other states they can't. In Texas, it seems like NPs are more closely supervised than PAs. My understanding is that a PA is like a "junior doctor". Not quite, but close. And without the years of school. My dad was army trained so I'm it sure what it takes to be a PA now, but I believe it's a 4year degree. After 35+ years of practice with a masters my dad made just over $100,000.
  18. I'd fix anything that had to be done. But otherwise, wait to do the house. It'll give yourself some time to decide exactly what you want done on the house too.
  19. I agree with Faith. DD graduated out of her piano teacher this summer and we're having problems finding a new one so she's just picking lots of pieces to play that she likes. I just keep her well stocked in sheet music to keep up her skills.
  20. No idea which to buy, but I'm in the same boat. I thought that you're supposed to be able to add flash drives to the USB ports, but I can't get the Xbox to recognize any of ours. So I'm currently at a loss.
  21. I think your plan is fine. I've not gotten anything from the in laws in a few years and it was always lopsided before that. I also think focusing on the grand kids is fine, but it does hurt your feelings when everyone else gets lots and you get nada. Last year they didn't get dd anything and that was really upsetting. I do think if you're having money troubles to cut down on the amount. We flat out told my mom no presents for anyone this year after my dad died. She doesn't have the money anymore. There are lots of things you can do for less or make even.
  22. Now have him plan next week's. And the following week. Or the entire month of December which should be scary if your December is as busy as mine. But tell him he can't repeat meals. He has to come up with sides. And any and all "mom's choice" involves a restaurant. Then see if he still thinks its easy have him start on the other meal times.
  23. My mom's enchiladas are the only ones DH will eat. Brown 1lb beef. Drain and mix with 1can enchilada sauce, 1can c of mushroom soup, and 1 can milk. Add 1/2 of mix to 8" pan. Warm 12 tortillas up. Put 1/2-1 lb shredded cheddar cheddar cheese in tortillas and roll up. Place in pan. Cover with remaining mixture. Top with 1/2-1 lb mozzarella cheese. Cover with foil. Bake 350 for 30 minutes. More or less. We make it frequently enough that I tend to double and freeze it. And I like lots of cheese in mine.
  24. We send out about 100 but only get 25 or so. But half that number is just family within one generation. Yes, it costs, but I order through vistaprint so I get a good deal. Some of the people on our list, this is the only contact we have with them. I also make small photo calendar magnets for family. We went and visited family a few years back that we hadnt seen in 10 years and they all had our magnets on the fridge. I like getting cards, specifically photo cards and wish more people did them.
