  1. Mamabegood is sporting a classic Lands End (yep, the real deal) white cotton T, refined by that just right fit that you can only get from years of wear and frequent washings. She's paired it with elegant granny panties in a matching white cotton. Clutch your pearls, ladies, because due to extreme heat and outrageous, air conditioning-defying electric bills, the outfit ends there. Thankfully, she plans to don a pair of loose khaki cotton shorts before the kids are up in the morning.
  2. I've always wondered about this--thanks for explaining!
  3. I have a friend like this. I really enjoy her company, but I know that when she talks about getting together (every time I see her :001_rolleyes:) she rarely follows through. It's easy for me not to take it personally because my dh is the same way. It irritates me that he never follows up, and I've told him many times that it's not nice to say that you want to invite someone over and then never do it, but we've been married for 22 years and he still forgets. As for my friend, I've learned to enjoy the time we are together and ignore the "Let's do this" and "Let's do that" which 90% of the time don't happen.
  4. Kind. Smart and evil can go together, but kind and evil don't.
  5. That's my experience too. As a teen, I decided not to get braces when it was time (my parents would have paid for it), and even though my bottom teeth are very crowded, I've never had a cavity or any problems. A lot of that is genetic, but really I'm fine with not having had braces. My eldest girl has braces, but it's more than cosmetic. I'm sure at least one more of my kids will need braces, and I don't look forward to paying for it. :001_huh:
  6. I get that not everyone can go to a doctor for his/her signature, but there are so many--so very, very many--people in California who don't have access to preventative medical care, that I don't believe the schools will keep the unimmunized/unwavered students out. My dh's school didn't.
  7. I personally don't enjoy going away on vacation--it's a ton of work before and after, and I'm a homebody anyway. So from my perspective, I totally get why someone wouldn't want to go away for a vacation. :grouphug:
  8. Not smudgy, they are just like a normal pen until you start erasing and that's when the magic happens. :tongue_smilie: They erase really well!
  9. Weird. I think I fixed it, thanks for telling me!
  10. My son with visual processing disorder has some difficulties with writing, and does better with a pen than a pencil. We decided to give erasable pens a go, and wow--they've improved a lot since I used them in the 80's. My kids love these! They erase better than pencils, and they write sooooo smooooothly. http://www.amazon.com/Pilot-FriXion-Erasable-8-Pack-31569/dp/B004DOMK2U/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1346213024&sr=8-2&keywords=erasable+pens
  11. I do. I use Pinterest for bookmarking in general, homeschool stuff and everything else.
  12. Me! I'm still waiting on a few orders, and I need to see the books before I can finish. But I already did all the planning for the curriculum I have on hand, and it feels great!
  13. I wouldn't do it. The last thing I want for my birthday is a stranger coming to my house to "pamper" me, and depending on your daughter's age I'd either hope she forgets or just gently explain how Mary Kay works and that you don't want to waste the lady's time when you know you won't be buying anything. Happy birthday, btw!
  14. Beer and Sensibility :001_wub: Beer on the Roof Snow White and the Seven Beers Sound of Beer Tomb Beer
  15. Tapatio and....anything? My oldest has even eaten it with donuts. (For those not in the know, it's like a Mexican Tabasco).
  16. I feel all warm and happy inside reading this--thanks so much for sharing your boy with us!
  17. I had one in my first car (VW Golf)--if you are 18 and wish you had a convertible, they are awesome. :001_smile: Now that I'm older I wouldn't like it at all. Mine was loud and whipped my hair everywhere (don't know if the newer ones are the same). Btw, I'm glad to see you are okay.
  18. I think that sounds like a great idea! :grouphug: So sorry you are saddled with such difficult family members.
  19. Hard--it's just really, really hard. :grouphug: Hoping and praying for great news, and a peaceful heart. :grouphug:
  20. I always jump to the most likely culprit--weird pregnancy craving?
  21. I don't know if there is an app, but one of my friends must have been hacked or something because she's been posting this daily: WOW I cant believe that you can see who is viewing your Profile! I just saw My Top 10 Profile and Photo Peekers and I am SHOCKED!! :001_huh: Of course, if you just click the link, you too can see who checks your profile. Mmmm hmmm.
  22. I personally think you are under reacting. If that is how they typically interact with your kids, why are you allowing your children to be treated this way? I'm not trying to be mean or snarky or anything else, but I don't see the benefit to your kids or even to their grandparents. It's not charity to tolerate their behavior and keep coming back for more. I love how Katilac dealt with her difficult relatives--I hope I remember this if I ever find myself tied to that kind of person.
  23. Georgiana will be rockin the banana clip AND big bangs ala Jennifer Keaton.
