  1. We have used cloth the majority of the time and I wash them myself. (when I looked at diaper service costs, it was higher than disposables) It has been a good experience for us. I hope I will get to buy cloth diapers for my grandchildren!
  2. Usually it is sometime between 8-12 weeks unless there are complications. I was in earlier a couple of times for severe morning sickness.
  3. Yes. :) I have crumbs on my kitchen floor, a mountain of laundry to fold, and a lot of excitement about attending a curriculum fair tomorrow. And I make mistakes, for which I apologize.
  4. I don't care at all. I just found it kind of laughable because most hs moms love to talk curriculum.
  5. It is a chapter book about some kids who were kidnapped, lured into a car. I thought the title was Run for Your Life, but nothing like that is coming up when I search. My second grade teacher read the book aloud to us, but it was the end of the year and we didn't finish it. It is just one of those things that has always bugged me kwim?
  6. :grouphug: I would feel exactly the same way.
  7. I have purchased things up to 2 years in advance when I find great prices.
  8. We have never had to buy much (I had a shower with #1 and reused much of it for the rest, plus 3 sets of generous grandparents) but I probably bought most things in the 3rd trimester. I made exceptions to that rule for amazing deals, like the double stroller off craigslist (like new and 1/4 of retail price) when I was about 16 weeks along. I do always buy something cute right after the pregnancy test. :) We lost our first baby right before my due date and so the concept of when things are "safe" isn't really part of my thinking.
  9. I think Ticonderoga changed the manufacturing location a few years ago and the quality has gone down.
  10. I may have to try some peppermint essential oil in the room. (since we already own it)
  11. My DD is getting bored with what we have on the iPod and I would like to find some more challenging options for her. Suggestions? Thanks!
  12. I'm wondering if perhaps your mom has never been around anyone with children before? ;-) There are plenty of mothers frustrated with their kids' behavior this time of year.
  13. Have you looked at Timberdoodle for ideas? They have free shipping when you spend $35 right now.
  14. We use a family doctor for most things. I prefer to use an ob/gyn or midwife for anything "girly" though.
  15. What size are they? I just picked up the world map from Costco but thinking about returning it if I can find something a little smaller. Also, where in the store did you find it? School supplies?
  16. We plan to do it, just for fun more than anything. :)
  17. DH!!!!! I pulled up a game on Timberdoodle to show him, mentioning the 2.99 shipping special right now. He sat down to look at the site and 15 minutes later we had free shipping. :thumbup1: Most of what he picked out is for his high school classroom, but he did say he would share with us. haha
  18. I just thought of another popular item at our house - small rechargeable flashlight. This item is so popular that we are probably going to get a second! They are great combined with blanket forts or a small pop up tent.
  19. toy shopping cart or doll stroller - so fun for this age! ball pit balls in a playpen mini trampoline find a friend to trade toys with so you have some "new" stuff
  20. I would be annoyed too. PG13 movies have no place in any childcare arrangement for that age group.
  21. Still waiting on mine too. I checked that I wanted one when I placed my order on the first of the month. The order was here in a week, but still no catalog.
  22. Thanks! I also got great suggestions from the "similar threads" after I posted LOL.
  23. I have always just used masking tape for small stuff, but we laminated a poster recently and the masking tape won't hold it up. We haven't had good luck with poster putty in the past either. I'd prefer not to pull holes in the wall if there is some magical solution out there....
