I am afraid I ate too much free food. The new plan didn't work for me as I am too good at "head games." And all the food I actually like, well, the points increased for them and my total points decreased! A perfect storm, lol. If you are able to eat sensibly from the free food list, then things will be different for you.

I did not have the printed band around the waist. Mine was more like this one. https:/amazon.com/Jessica-Howard-Womens-Printed-Jacket/dp/B074WHD2BT/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1529939322&sr=8-5&keywords=jessica+howard+jacket

I really liked the Jessica Howard jacket dress I got for my daughter's wedding. It was so comfortable! It was longer, flowing, and $99.

Does anyone here make (bake) their own bread regularly?
Calm37 replied to Ginevra's topic in The Chat Board
Those of you that are weighing your ingredients, what are you using for that? I would like to do it, but I'm unsure what to buy. -
Help me plan my maybe fantasy/ maybe real epic road trip

The drive from Denver to Salt Lake City will be amazing! -
Well, we have always teased him that he looks like a terrorist. So there's that. Also, at the last one his wife came over, and the TSA guy said, "Oh...you two are together?" and finished it up very quickly. So she learned a lesson from that to stick closer to him. We printed our passes at home, so he didn't get flagged at the desk. But he thought the "randomly selected" line was pretty humorous by the third time it happened.

My son is just back from a trip that involved 5 different flights. He was "randomly selected" for extra scrutiny on all of them!

Yair-wee. Every time.

I do like the smell of lavender and other certain oils very much. I always thought the use of lavender for migraines was kind of dumb. It was only in the last year that I smelled it for the first time. I was shocked at how much I loved that scent! I did put some on my wrists nightly for awhile and found that I was sleeping better after a month or so of this. I don't use it nightly anymore, but am still sleeping better. ? So perhaps it was a sugar pill of some kind, but hey, it's all good. Also, I have been been having some gastro-type issues after a recent illness. In my research, I read that peppermint oil can be effective as an anti-spasmodic for some people. I just happened to have some on hand from my EO starter kit. Wow, there was an immediate difference! Glad to be a member of the "some people" group! So there is one EO that has a REAL benefit.

I would love to be added to this group, too! -
Oh! I thought it meant "speaking of" all this time!

Surely we'll find something to complain about? I came to Well Trained Mind because of the drama on the Sonlight forums all.the.time. This version of the WTM forum has worked fairly well, but search - not for me.

I really couldn't just say yes. Some restaurants are so busy and the rest rooms are nowhere in sight of the table. It just depends. Here in town at the coffee shop, sure.

Would you repair or replace an suv that needs "bodywork" from an accident?
Calm37 replied to sheryl's topic in The Chat Board
Replace. We have always driven "beater" cars, and we would never invest that kind of money in one. It's sad, and also hard to find cheap cars. But if you let people know you are looking, it really helps. There are people that would replace their own cars if they had an easy buyer. They just hate to trade them in or list them. -
shifting from "night person" to "morning person"
Calm37 replied to EmilyGF's topic in The Chat Board
I have struggled, too, to get up earlier. I have not had the sleep problems that you are having, just mainly tiredness early in the afternoon. I will never be one to just jump out of bed! One thing that definitely helps me is to have a consistent nighttime routine. It may seem very early, but start getting ready for bed an hour before you want to be asleep. I also started diffusing and using some essential oils that I like the smell of at bedtime. I hope you are drinking some of that coffee! :) Have a cup or three early and then no more caffeine during the day. I agree to get a coffee maker with a timer - one less thing to do in the morning. The first thing I do after getting up is pour myself a cup! -
Suggestions for Writing for Middle School
Calm37 replied to Metzbower's topic in General Education Discussion Board
Perhaps there will be a "One Year Adventure Novel" booth at your curriculum fair. If so, check out their middle school writing program "Cover Story." My oldest and youngest have been involved in the OYAN universe for years. The middle school material was after our time, but we love Daniel Schwabauer's teaching. -
My daughter chose one of the Brother machines at Walmart and it's been fine for her costume sewing. I think it was right at $100.

No question here that I would choose the eat-in kitchen. I almost always have someone at the table reading or on their laptops while I am working in the kitchen. I love that shared, open space.

iPhone SE....worth getting or will it be obsolete soon?
Calm37 replied to Ottakee's topic in The Chat Board
If that is the size you want, you should get it. All our Apple stuff is OLD, I mean 4-5 years old. (IPad, 4S, 5S, 6S) It all still works great. -
Caffeine, Caffeine...joy, joy. The Poll edition.

I've gone to half-caff so I can drink more! -
Denominations that fit that the following criteria?
Calm37 replied to staceyobu's topic in The Chat Board
We were in this situation for many years, and my kids got involved in the children's ministry as helpers. There was much long-term fruit from this, and they are all in ministry to children and youth now as adults. -
My kids did not like the TV shows after the first few. They were disturbed by them. I don't know what it was exactly. Part of it was the soundtrack, for sure. I was surprised by the reaction, but I watched a ton of TV when I was a kid, and they really had very little exposure to TV shows. That one with the mice or rats bringing plague, oh, my, word. My kids still talk about that as adults, Mom having them watch scary TV shows, lol.

I have had a concussion. Honestly, if you don't rest now, you will pay a much higher price later. Really. Resting now is the cheapest option. I'm so sorry. It's hard!
