Suzybearybake
My 13 year old ds is going ( about 2 hours away) to the children's hospital in Peoria tomarrow. His colon does not function( contract). This has been a chronic problem since birth. He has been on meds but has had seepage. When they read the x-rays they discovered that all six feet of his colon are totally full and blocked. His rectum is more than double in size and his colon keeps stretching to accomidate more stool. The last time he was hospitalized they ran an IV through his nose and pumped him full of hard core laxitives. He threw up and had diarrea every 5- 10 minutes for over 24 hours. They were constantly changing his bedding. He was totally tramatized and now is scarred to death. We tried to administer an enema last night and he just burst into tears. They will more than likely use this same method to clean him out again. We are hoping that something can be done without removing any of his colon or having to insert a port for a bag. We have friends staying home with the other two, but were told to pack for a few days so we are not sure what to expect. Any prayers would be greatly appreciated.
