Best of luck to him!  It's so cool being part of a community like this for many years and watching each other's kids grow and seeing how our own do as well.  ❤️  I haven't been here very long but there's another forum that I have experienced this on and it's really special.

What sweet photos. Best of luck to your son! I agree the seasons in life tug at the heart. I completely feel that too.

My oldest son just commissioned Army last summer after graduating college. My husband gave our son his first salute ( husband retired recently after 26 years active Army). Bittersweet for me.

Aw, I'm right there with you. No, I'm *really* right there with you! My DS is also heading to Fort Knox on Tuesday! When I started here on the boards I had both young adult children and preschool/toddlers.

Is your DS heading off to Basic or Advanced Camp? Fort Knox is a beautiful post!!

Congratulations! I think I joined these boards about the same time. Bonus child will be a transfer student this fall...25 years of homeschooling finished off her senior year with the pandemic lockdown and all community college classes. Still waiting for wedding bells and grandkids, though!

He volunteered to be OPFOR for ROTC Advanced Camp!

Christian volunteered for the next five weeks for ROTC before he heads to Ft. Leonard Wood! What a coincidence! Now I'm wondering how big could that group be?
