BlsdMama
My kids have an EXTENSIVE Audible collection. DS17 read almost exclusively by ear. We're taking a trip to St. Louis with the youngest 4 (12yo, 11yo, 9yo, and 8yo.) Looking for an engaging suggestion. As a family (with this younger set vs. all the olders) we've enjoyed Cheaper By the Dozen, Tree Castle Island, Narnia books... I've read The Green Ember (it is my all time favorite) and we own the set so I thought about listening to it. I've read it to them once and they've listened to it independently since then so something new might be fun.

prairiewindmomma
Amari and the Great Game (the sequel) doesn’t release until August 30th. We did listen to Amari and the Night Brothers on a recent trip—the audio was well done.

Meriwether
Our family enjoyed the Artemis Fowl audiobooks, especially when the kids were about that age. Content considerations for the first books would include but not be limited to magic (books about fairies) and potty humor. 1

shawthorne44
Adding these, particularly since you will need lots of suggestions since your kids have probably read many already. How to Train Your Dragon series Eion Colfer's Artemis Fowl series, oh wait someone already said this one. My daughter re-listens to the Land of Stories series
prairiewindmomma
I asked my 16yob if Daughter of the Deep, by Rick Riordan, was engaging enough for him. He said yes. My tween was most into the story, but it held for my older kids too. It was released in late 2021, so it's also fairly new.
