Pink and Green Mom Posted May 11, 2016 Posted May 11, 2016 (edited) Still kidless but today I vow to get off the couch and do stuff. -laundry (5 loads) -exercise (upper body weights) -get ready -drop off about 100 books at Goodwill -start thinking about/gathering up things for DS1's graduation memory board -read (AKA stay off the internet) -help DH run concession stand at little league tonight 3 pm ETA: well....I started to exercise and during the warm up I got very lightheaded and dizzy (never happened before). Followed quickly by two more episodes and a massive headache. DH came home, I went to doctor and was diagnosed with vertigo. Sigh. My head hurts (feel like I have a hangover) every time I move so it looks like not much will be accomplished today. Edited May 11, 2016 by Pink and Green Mom 4 Quote
SKL Posted May 11, 2016 Posted May 11, 2016 (edited) Happy Wednesday! It would be a great day if my boss wasn't returning to find out what I've been doing this week. :/ I got on the internet to sign up for a couple of free library summer camps. Registration opened at 9am this morning. By 9:10 one of the camps was filled. Dang! My kids are #1 and #2 on the waiting list, so we'll see ... I'm glad I didn't tell them in case they missed it. It's a computer camp centered around Diary of a Wimpy Kid. I did manage to sign up for the magic camp though. Today's list: Get kids up & off to school bus. [done] Take out the garbage. [done] Pet care / clean out the bird cages. [done] Clean kitchen, bathrooms, and some clutter. [done] Sign kids up for library summer camps. [done] Work. Get lots out before boss shows up. Kids' work. Kids to swim. Probably work while they swim. Kids to sports class. They can take themselves there while I work. Dinner. More kids' work / read-aloud. Kids to bed. Work. ScoutTN Posted May 11, 2016 Posted May 11, 2016 (edited) Bad day here. Nothing big, just a steady stream of irritations that I am not handling very well. I am ready for summer break! Dd has not been brushing well enough and the ortho was very displeased. Said Dd is in danger of infection and may have to have brackets removed for dental work to be done. Then I forgot to put the gas cap back on, wasted 30 minutes trying to find it. Spent another 30 minutes replacing it. Get home and find the dog has shredded 5 large bags of topsoil and a bag of potting soil all over my deck. And Ds is being a major pain this morning, showing zero diligence and zero focus. Another school day in the trash.... Forgot to take the ground beef out of the freezer, so no meatloaf tonight. Sorry for being a whiner! Thanks for being a safe place to vent. ;) :o Edited May 11, 2016 by ScoutTN Quote

Susan in TN Posted May 11, 2016 Posted May 11, 2016 What a stinky day, Scout! Sounds like you need the night off with a treat and a good book or movie. 3 Quote

I am such a grouch right now that I may take the out and let every one find his/her own dinner tonight. nice to have kids big enough to do that! 1 Quote

TammyinTN Posted May 11, 2016 Posted May 11, 2016 (edited) Scout ..big hugs!! :grouphug: When ds had first got his brackets/braces on...he had one of those appointments :scared: ....I got him a Braun high speed spin brush thing for brushing and the dentist read him the riot act and we never had a problem after that visit. If you don't have one...it might be an excellent investment. He has great hygiene now because of it and flossing. Boys! :smash: Oh and a timer for 3 minutes of brushing 3 times a day until they get it right. Edited May 11, 2016 by TammyinVA 1 Quote
ScoutTN Posted May 11, 2016 Posted May 11, 2016 List is as done as it will get. Thinking about tomorrow's list. Dinner is make-your-own. I am going to have a glass of wine and read for a bit. (Totally ignoring the topsoil mess which is only half cleaned up.) Liz CA, the thawing worked great. A trick I am sure I will use many times! Now Dh can make burgers and grill if he wants to. Maybe he will grill me a nice cheeseburger? I may run to the library tonight in search of a new story to read. I have non-fiction and weighty fiction, but I'm in the mood for something fluffy. 2 Quote
mom31257 Posted May 12, 2016 Posted May 12, 2016 Scout, I'm sorry! Ds just got braces on his top teeth Monday and was very sore yesterday. Your post makes me realize I'm going to need to stay on him about cleaning. I haven't read any, but dh and I did watch Game of Thrones. I got a bit of tidying done, so I crossed it off the list. There's always more to do, though. 1 Quote
