I can remember my dad's checking account number that he got in 1977, my childhood phone number, my dad's phone number from my childhood, my granny's phone number (she passed away in 1996), our first central Texas phone number, and other random numbers.

I still remember my TX drivers license number. And I haven't been there in 19 years... I also remember one of my childhood addresses, which was a lot longer ago...

Back from a hike and Babiness did practically the whole thing! I had to carry him by some dropoffs which gave him some adequate breaks but he walked at least a mile and a quarter. He's so big! :crying:

Root beer. . . .   :zombiechase: :zombie: :zombiechase:

They already have this memorized.

Incontinence is when you can't hold your pee. (sneeze, drip). She calls, they ask if she can hold...

I was trying to be funny.

I can only say my childhood phone  number in Japanese.  I get confused if I try to convert it to English.

This is so cute!

Well, the family dysfunction which is the reason that College Buddy spends so much time here is apparently happening again.  So I told the boys that they could hang out here this afternoon after all.

:grouphug:  :grouphug:  to CB.  That's rough, but at least he has your place to come to.  Thank you for providing that for him.

Someone official (hospital, I think) asked dh for my cell number a couple weeks ago, and he gave them his work phone # from something like three jobs and a decade ago.

He was absolutely confident he was right about it.

(((CB)))

Matt's trying to sell me on Madison, Indiana. MIL was really upset because it will be too far for her to come get the kids every Sunday (I was unaware this was her plan) so I'm going to look up the area.

This is not the plan you're looking for <insert Jedi hand wave>

I'm pretty sure that takes Madison, IN and anything within 100 mile radius right off the table.

Why? It's *too far* for her to come get the get the kids every Sunday.

Fire up the 'copter; we're all meetin at Jean's.  Don't forget the root beer.

And French vanilla ice cream.

You can come to New Mexico.

You can Spanish my children.

So is New Mexico. Until I move to Texas.

See? Texas.

I'm back from work. My back is in a sorry state what with tripping on the stairs yesterday, driving this morning, getting up and down this morning, driving home, and then wrangling the plastic sheeting to keep the chickie birds warm and toasty during the upcoming deep freeze. They have been burrowing in the straw like rats since the boys fixed their house for them. The plastic goes over the windows and blocks most of the wind.

I had a hard day today, and I hurt, inside and out. DH went to get dinner and I think I'll take a hot soaky bath and maybe mess with paint until I feel better.

Right, she should probably move further away than 100 miles, like New Mexico. Or Texas.

Essentially, Matt's dad had a series of strokes and was supposed to die and we could not afford a flight because our emergency fund was depleted. He wants to be able to drive if anything else happens.

Ah, an important reason.  What area does Matt's Dad live in?

I found a new use for my instant pot: making a huge pot of hot tea. I need to experiment with how much honey or sugar to add and how many bags or teaspoons to use, but I think it will work well. I filled it up to max and we can set it to keep warm and dip out of it over and over.  :001_smile:

I didn't have my social memorized until I joined the Army. Then I learned it Really Quickly.

The pros of being a military family. I know them all like my own birthday.

The con is, my ex h certainly has mine memorized as well and will be here forget it. My credit is locked, possibly forever.

Are MIL and FIL still together?  Or does she live someplace other than FIL?

Yes, still married and always will be. Another reason to live driving distance. "If something happens" could be as simple as MIL breaking her ankle so the kids and I have to stay there for 3 weeks to tend to FIL. We're not so much worried about being able to drive to their funerals as we are that they could both live another 30 years and no one else will take care of them. They raised 5 kids but none of them came to help when FIL came home. It was a huge mess. He needed 24/7 care for around 6 months but insurance wouldn't  cover it. At one point he fell out of bed and hit life alert but his door was locked so they didn't come in to help. They were like "We rand the bell, but no one answered." He needs help with basic life now so if *anything* happens to MIL, even a 24 hour hospital stay he'll need someone and no one will come. They're a wonderful family.

I read this too fast and thought that you said your ex-husband was a con.

You got something against cons? I was raised by one.  :toetap05:

(kidding)

Slache, what if you moved to a city with major airline hubs - like Houston? You can often get really cheap flights if one of you needs to make an emergency trip.

Hmm....

I have an urge to crochet another scarf and hat set. Ds22 really likes his. But I'm pretty sure it's just because I don't wanna do Other Things.

Me too. I was thinking how I had a scarf or two crocheted for Dancer when she was Gymnast's age. I haven't yet crocheted or sewed anything for Gymnast. #badmom
