StaceyinLA
I put a Boston Butt in the crock pot around 10 this morning. I seasoned it with salt, pepper, garlic, and put purple onion slices on top. It's tender and nearly falling apart now, and I have no idea what to cook to go with it. I just need inspiration. No starches/carbs.
Susan C.
A BBQ place near here has a great salad with the smoked pork in it, cheese, bacon, pecans, etc. and a yummy dressing which is ranch and bbq sauce mixed together. YUM!
Truscifi
Baked beans and a salad are my go to, but the beans would probably be to high carb. When I'm actually sticking to my low carb diet I generally just have a salad. The boys still eat the beans though.
Ewe Mama
I put a Boston Butt in the crock pot around 10 this morning. I'm sorry, but this made me giggle. I've been around immature little boys far too long.
unsinkable
I'm sorry, but this made me giggle. I've been around immature little boys far too long. It is a funny name, and even funnier bc it is from the shoulder.

unsinkable
Can you make a coleslaw with no sugar? Or sugar substitute? I don't know your feeling about that.
Joyofsixreboot
Cole slaw or sauerkraut, mash potatoes and corn. Oh, and lemon pie :).
Jean in Newcastle
I'm sorry, but this made me giggle. I've been around immature little boys far too long. I just might have told my kids that they have Seattle Butts. . . . My kids say that I'm stuck in middle school.
amyco
Broccoli salad--the kind that has broccoli florets, red onion, bacon, shredded cheddar and a mayo vinaigrette. Mmmmm. Like this one: http://allrecipes.com/recipe/bodacious-broccoli-salad/ I never use the full amount of sugar and have used sweetener in the past. Maybe you don't need it at all? LucyStoner
Can you make a coleslaw with no sugar? Or sugar substitute? I don't know your feeling about that. I don't put sugar in my coleslaw. Lots of coleslaw recipes don't call for it.
trulycrabby
Mashed cauliflower, yellow squash cooked with sweet onions, or broccoli with cheese or butter sauce. Sounds yummy! :001_wub:
StaceyinLA
Okay I have some great ideas for stuff that I'm gonna put on my grocery list, but I wound up doing (because I had no cabbage/slaw at the house): mashed cauliflower & balsamic collard greens I must say, the pork was just delicious. It came from the farmer's market and had an amazing flavor. The mashed cauliflower is always a hit and even my son said it tasted a lot like mashed potatoes. The balsamic collards are awesome - it's actually a crock pot recipe that I just do on the stove. I just left the bacon out and sautéed the onion in olive oil since I was already having my fair share of pork fat.

Just Kate
Speaking of BBQ I am making the same thing this week, but I found a sugar free BBQ sauce I plan to try. I was so surprised to see it in the regular section in the grocery store. It is the sauce reviewed here: http://www.cutthewheat.com/2014/04/review-g-hughes-guys-sugar-free-gluten.html I once tried that Walden Farms one...that one was lousy. I know this is a bit off topic, but Sparkly, could you come back and report after trying this? I am in need of a sugar-free BBQ sauce and would love to hear how this one tastes. Thanks!
