LisaNY
Hi Everyone, We saw the specialist today, and he took a look at our dd's x-ray. It measures only 30 degrees!!! He just wants to keep an eye on it for now, so we will come back for more x-rays in 3 months. Whew! Needless to say we are SO relieved! AND, he told me even if I had brought her in a year ago, it would not have made that much difference. She probably still would have presented at around 25-30 degrees, even with a brace. He told us that she is almost done with her spinal growth, so that is a good sign that she should stabilize. Thank you all so much for your helpful, encouraging responses the other day. My ortho dr. really scared us with his negative reaction to the x-ray. At least he sent us to someone more experienced with this problem. I wish I could give every single one of you a big hug! :grouphug::grouphug:

Only me
My dd just got cleared on her scoliosis. It was just discovered last year at 15. She just went to the ortho a few weeks ago and they took another x-ray. It hadn't changed and he was able to tell that her spine was done growing. She is only 5 feet and 3/4 inches but we're ok with that as long as her scoliosis won't get worse. I'm happy for your dd
Jenny in Atl
That's great news, Lisa! Jenny, I'll be thinking of you - please let us know how it goes. :grouphug::grouphug::grouphug: All around! We also got good news this morning! Mac's curve only progressed a little bit to 18 on top and 27 on the bottom. He feels she is almost in the clear, only ~ 15% chance it will worsen, since she is at the end of her growth. So we go back in 6 months for another look but no brace. I am so relieved both emotionally and financially! :001_smile:
