Stacia
The Sparrow Our book club read that one a couple of years ago. It's an excellent book for discussion! The last book we read was The Geography of Bliss. For our next meeting, we're reading The Enchanted April (& we're going to watch the movie of it when we get together). KathyBC
Our last book club read was The Paris Wife. I'm catching up on one I missed last summer, Shantaram. I think next month is 3 Day Road.
Belacqua
Our book circle imploded a while ago amid much drama and recrimination, but shortly before that we read Antipode and quite liked it. It was probably the last thing we all agreed upon. :) It isn't the sort of book I would have picked up on my own, but I really enjoyed it. Laura Corin
We actually read two children's books: War Horse and Private Peaceful. That's unusual for us but it made a nice change. Before that, we read Mao's Last Dancer and Regeneration (Pat Barker), both recommended. This month we are reading The Help and next month Memoirs of a Foxhunting Man (Sassoon). PrincessMommy
I haven't been in a book club for over a year so I looked up my "book Club" list over at Goodreads. Here's some that were great for discussions in years past: "Children of Men" by PD James "To Kill a Mockingbird" by Harper Lee "My Father's Paradise" by Ariel Sabar "The Giver" by Lois Lowry "Cry, Beloved Country" by Paton (although the audio is better because of the grammatical weirdness - no quotes "A Sacred Journey" by Buechner "A Tree Grows in Brooklyn" Betty Smith
