Rebecca
I am looking for some long skirts for my DD. She wears a size 8 in girls (she will be 8 years old in May). Does anyone have any suggestions? I have found some at Kohls. I do NOT want white. Thank you so much! Rebecca
The Girls' Mom
Try thrift stores. One of my dds loves long skirts, and that seems to be where our best luck is.
Spryte
My sister's girls only wear long skirts (Orthodox), and she shops at Macy's often. Maybe try other dept stores as well. April Cornell has a girl's line, too.
LisaKinVA
CWD has some maxi skirts and maxi dresses out right now :D
athena1277
I bought dd a long khaki skirt from Old Navy at Christmas time. It's only sold online under the school uniform section, but it doesn't look "uniform-y". They also sell a long denim skirt online, but it's not always in stock. justasque
Thrift stores. Find some funky ones for older kids/women, cut off the original waistband and add an elastic waist. If there's a lining, sew the lining to the outer fabric at the top first, to make it easier. Or buy some cute fabric and sew some up - it's really easy. The nice thing about using thrifted ones is that you can keep all the embellishment and trims, and often even the original hem, which saves you a lot of labor over making one from scratch. LibraryLover
miniboden has long peasant skirts in a variety of colors and fabrics. If you check it out, look on the sales page for winter items.
milovany
My girls wear only long skirts by (their) choice, and have learned to make them. Is that an option? They can whip one out in a couple days if they focus on it, a week without devoting a ton of time each day to it. If it's not an option, I bet my girls would be happy to make your daughter some. I could send you pictures of the patterns/skirts they have. PM me if you want to chat about that.
LibraryLover
CWD has some maxi skirts and maxi dresses out right now :D I got that catalog yesterday. Too cute for words. I thought I called and asked all the companies to stop sending me paper catalogues, but DWD must not have gotten my message yet. It was fun to see how cute. Another awesome, but impossibly costly company for darling long skirts and such, is Chasing Fireflies.
TrulySusan
Justice has a lot of pretty long skirts and sundresses in the stores right now-we just bought 2 this weekend. Be sure to print out a 40% off coupon if you shop there.;)
momto2Cs
Another awesome, but impossibly costly company for darling long skirts and such, is Chasing Fireflies. I love browsing through Chasing Fireflies with my dd. Thankfully, my mom is an accomplished seamstress, so we're sewing a few on our own based on the CF pictures. Sewing a long a-line skirt is fairly easy, so that could be a good route to go.
Paula in MS
My dd 10 loves wearing long skirts. We just found a ton at Belks in both prints and solid colors. They had a huge selection. I was very surprised.
curlgirl
Try ebay. If you type modest in your search for example Long Modest Size 8 skirt, you are more likely to get skirts that you would be interested in. :)
