Laurie
If your hair "poofs out from the body" you just might have a TSA person running his/her fingers through your hair. http://www.king5.com/news/local/TSA-to-woman-Were-going-to-have-to-examine-your-hair-125112189.html These stories from travelers are getting creepier all the time. (Note: the woman in this story had already gone through the body scanner and was still told that her hair would have to be examined.) newlifemom
Didn't read the article, but when I flew in Jan, the agent tapped the top of my head with no warning. :001_huh: She the. Told me, my hair was high and they had to check it out. A little notice would have been nice. :glare:

stripe
I always have TSA agents pat my head and neck but they do 'ask' first. Hope this doesn't apply to hair below the waist during the leg / groin portion of the exam.

Night Elf
Okay, so they said that head coverings were supposed to be searched. I guess they are technically correct that hair does indeed cover the head. So are these searches truly random? Or do they literally search every single person that has something on that is on their suspicious list? The lady in this video said she specifically saw other women with poofy hair and they were not being searched. It seems to me that it should be everyone. Otherwise, can these security measures truly be effective? Maybe terrorists will send 100 poofy haired women to the airport knowing that at least 1 will get through, which is all it takes? Murphy101
Ug. This could really upset the little ol ladies of Texas with the required mini bouffant hairdos.:glare:
mom2scouts
OH no, I have very thick wavy hair that often gets a little wild. I guess I could hide something in there, but seriously?
Teachin'Mine
Most women in New Jersey are collectively fainting.... I'm glad they didn't have this in the 80's. Searching poofy hair then would have meant four hour security lines.

It will definitely be a two-man job. :D

Woodhaven
While I confess that I HATE TSA, I also kind of see why there is such a response to security threats. Now they are saying people will allow explosives to be implanted into their bodies surgically!! So while I think those checks are extreme, so are the threats. So sad that things have come to this!!!!!
Renthead Mommy
But don't you remember the scene in "Casino" when Joe Pesci and his family were coming back from overseas and the the FEDs where searching their things and the wife was yelling at them to not mess up her nicely folded clothes. When they got home she shook a bunch of diamonds out of her hair bun on top of her head! LOL!
