emubird
I haven't been getting much sleep. I thought the "Does your homeschool have a motto?" thread was really "Does your husband have a motto?" And then I wondered what sort of motto a husband might have. I think my husband is a bit motto-less.
DarcyB
My husband's motto: Sleep+bacon=HappyHubby. Seriously.
Danestress
that's probably the closest he has to a motto. He also says "most of life is practice" a lot.
FaithManor
Mine does not have a motto. But he does have a funny phrase he uses. If money is running short, he'll say, "We're tighter than two coats of paint." Faith
Ibbygirl
I think my husband's motto is, "What's for dinner?" He says it everyday. ;):tongue_smilie:
The Girls' Mom
My dh's motto is : I'm awesome!:lol::lol: Seriously. My dd's friend told my dd one day that she thought dh was awesome. It stuck. :glare: Now every time the girl calls, dh says...tell her: I'm awesome. Or he'll yell in the background: "Hey Mal, I'm AWESOME!" Thankfully the girl has a sense of humor. It's been said enough that I've contemplated getting him a t-shirt.
Haiku
My husband's is "The purpose of Frank humor is to entertain myself. If other people laugh, all the better." Tara
ChrisN in NY
My husband's motto is "I may grow older, but I refuse to grow up." When we were 21, I thought he was making a joke; I wish I had realized that he was serious.
dirty ethel rackham
I think dh's motto would be "Why use 20 words when 5 will do? In fact, why use words at all?" That has been the story of our marriage. My boys are learning this from him, unfortunately.
goldberry
"I know I have it, I just don't know where it is." :glare:

DawnM
I don't know if it is a motto, but it sure gets said a lot! "How much will that cost?"
Pam Wilhelm
My husband's motto would be: "Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!! for marrying me and staying with me and loving me and by the way, did I say Thank you today?" He's a wonderful man...but after 22 years of hearing this I'm beginning to wonder what kind of freak he is. Just kidding..... he's a wonderful freak! ....... and I love him. :D
DawnM
How wonderful! I have to comment on your chipmunk in your avatar. We were working on "ch" sounds with my 6 year old. The picture was of a chipmunk....but he has never seen one and didn't know what it was. He was quite confused and finally said, "A chasquirrel!" My husband's motto would be: "Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!! for marrying me and staying with me and loving me and by the way, did I say Thank you today?" Garga
The man has said, "I'm tired" EVERY SINGLE DAY of our married life (18 years.) I've been asking him to stop saying it. Seriously. It's getting old. Yes, he has a cpap, so it's not untreated sleep apnea. It's the fact that he won't go to bed at a decent hour. There were two glorious weeks at about the 9 year mark of marriage, where I convinced him to get a full 8 hours of sleep and he wasn't tired for those two weeks. But for the remaining 17 years and 50 weeks, the man has been "tired." He tells me that he'll stop saying "I'm tired," when I stop saying, "I'm cold." :tongue_smilie:
Crimson Wife
I'm married to a full-blown nerd so he goes around quoting Goethe: "It is easier to perceive error than to find truth, for the former lies on the surface and is easily seen, while the latter lies in the depth, where few are willing to search for it." Carol in Cal.
I have mottos for myself. Remember in Eat, Pray, Love in Italy everyone had to pick a word that expresses them? Mine was 'responsible'. My mottos are "Kindness and Truth" and "Do what's right." My basic outlook is: 1. Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong. 2. Most people are really nice. 3. Done is good. My most foundational belief is that God loves us all and is both trustworthy and in charge.
Renthead Mommy
My husband's started when we were first looking for an apartment, then when we were getting married and it has followed us through many moves, adventures and years. "Tell me where I have to be, tell me when I have to be there and tell me who I make the check out to!"
