Daisy
I have driven past this sign so many times! Today, I finally had my camera. Can you believe that? LOL. Crazy.
Snickerdoodle
Looks like a Freudian slip.
Jenstet
I saw a highway sign the other day that said "Expect Miner Delays" made me giggle....
Mrs Mungo
Can you believe that? LOL. Crazy. That is crazy! There is a guy who sells pickled mango on the side of the road (I am amazed at the number of people selling food on the side of the road here) near me. Except, his sign says "Pikal Mango." I keep threatening to make him a new sign before we move.
3peasinapod
Not only does the spelling irritate me, but "High Maintenance?" I get such a negative feeling from that. I guess I'm just so un-high maintenance. :001_huh:
elegantlion
Maybe it's really the Hi, Matt & Nance, Salon. Could be. :D
seibert4kids
Oh....these type of things really get under my skin! I figure if you're going to send a "public message" via a sign/billboard/book/etc.... you need to make sure it is accurate! I'm not the world's best speller, for sure, but it's frustrating when other's don't even seem to take the time to proofread their work or allow someone else to look it over before "going public" with it! A person/company's reputation is put on the line when they do this!
Granny_Weatherwax
I think the sign is funny but I thought it was a play on words. Could you look it up in the phone book and see how the name of the business is spelled?
mrsrevmeg
Our local Sonic had NOW WITH BIGER PIECES OF POPCORN CHICKEN!!! on their sign for the longest time. It drove my husband crazy. Our church sign says "Terry Sharp-Pasto" :glare: Its not that people in our church are too dumb to spell pastor they are just too cheap to buy another pack of letters for an extra /r/. If I had a key to unlock the plexiglass over the sign, I would correct it myself. Grrrr.....
TXMomof4
Last month there was a festival for the Month of the Military Child and there were posters up all over town. Lt. Dan Band was coming and there were going to be all sorts of different activities. One of the activities was geocashing - not geocaching. Yup - we're an educated group over at the Army. The same day I was at my dh's office and there was a note taped over the shredder - "You're responsible for your own shreading". Dh was a little embarassed when he noticed it. I wasn't impressed. cathmom
I bet that is just the way they say it - "mate-nince" If you don't say, "main-te-nance" you wouldn't realize it's said that way. I actually think "High Maintenance Salon" is a pretty good name!
Lightly Salted
I have driven past this sign so many times! Today, I finally had my camera. Can you believe that? LOL. Crazy. but I'm sorry to inform you that the spelling police are a dying breed ... :glare:
AuntieM
Maybe that's intended to imply that one (ie, the DH) should recognize that his MATE is high-maintenance and he shouldn't be shocked by the cost of the salon's services....? Nah, I think they just can't spell.
Mejane
The same day I was at my dh's office and there was a note taped over the shredder - "You're responsible for your own shreading". Desert Rat
Geez. Cut a "u" in half and flip it over. Tada!
Tree House Academy
It appears there wouldn't be enough room to add in an "i" and another "n" - perhaps they spelled it the best they could with the letters that would fit. You know, like a license plate. Right? YEAH. Sure! ROFL
*Inna*
Looks like a Freudian slip. :iagree::lol::lol:
scrappyhappymama
Oh, oh, oh, I've got one! But I think it actually deserves it's own thread. It's THAT bad! :ack2: I actually think High Maintenance Salon is a funny name. But poor spelling in professional signs really drives me batty as well!!
