Julie in CA
If you were going out to a nice dinner on New Year's Eve, which of these desserts would you order? If you know what your dh would order, you can vote for his choice also. Thanks!

I didn't see any choices, but I am always good for Tiramisu. ;)
Liz CA
I didn't see any choices, but I am always good for Tiramisu. ;) I just clicked on it again and the poll choices showed up. Holy Cow. I want that "Poached Pear in what again?" right now. Please have it delivered to my place of work and I will share if I have to.
Julie in CA
I didn't see any choices, but I am always good for Tiramisu. ;) Oh....sorry! I did tiramisu recently, so I can't do that again so soon. ;) You'll have to pick from one of the other lovely choices. :)
AndyJoy
I voted for the cheesecake, but could only vote for it once. DH would order the same, so you can add another one to cheesecake.

If you know what your dh would order, you can vote for his choice also. Thanks! They all look very nice, but I have to admit that it's a rare moment when I can resist the seductive call of cheesecake.
melissel
Warm chocolate cake with brown sugar toffee ice cream I think I'm going to cry a little. Julie, if I ever make it out to California, I'm sooooo looking you up! I would pick this, DH would pick the cheesecake, and I love creme brulee any night of the year. I could totally live without the other two (though I'm sure they're lovely :D).
*********
Julie, they all sound fantastic. And I too hope to meet you some day. And eat some of your desserts. :)

danybug
I picked chocolate cake and toffee ice cream by far. The only other choice I might be interested in is the creme brulee. I love cheesecake but do not care for white chocolate. Can you tell I am picky about my desserts?
*********
Aww....shucks....y'all only love me for my desserts?! :001_unsure: Of course not Julie. :001_smile: But chocolate always helps when making freinds, doesn't it? (You know we love you, Julie. ;)) Have a Merry Christmas! A funny...my dh and I have been happily married for more than 20 years. I always have cooked and baked, mostly just for fun, but when I started baking professionally, my dh came home one day when I'd been working all day. His comment? "I loved you before, but now....now you're also covered in chocolate!" :drool5: :D
Heidi @ Mt Hope
I almost voted for creme brulee, but the brown sugar toffee ice cream put the chocolate cake over the edge. I am soooooooo hungry, now. The pears sound delish, too. I would eat (and enjoy, I'm sure) the rum cake if it was served to me, but I probably wouldn't order it. Cheesecake sounds too ordinary to me (gasp!!), though I would of course eat it if someone twisted my arm. :)
Jean in Newcastle
Dh can't have dairy so we would get the chocolate cake with the ice cream on the side. The kids would share the ice cream and dh and I would share the cake. We're experts at making a big dessert stretch a looooooong ways. Parrothead
Feeling frutish right now so I voted for the pears.
newbie
No matter what, I always vote Chocolate.
JFSinIL
I'd go for the cake with the ice cream - hubby is more of a fruit guy and would order the pears. I think having a chocolate and a fruit offering would cover most folks.

CatMomof3
I think I will go for the Poached pears with champagne sabayon. My MIL makes the best cheesecake and I make a mean chocolate cake.
Brigitte
Well, dh always orders cheesecake and I am a sucker for a good creme brulee, but for New Year's the pears sound great, especially if I am drinking champagne already.
Spy Car
The poached pears for me. And crème brûlée for Mrs Spy Car. Bill
Julie in CA
I was afraid the rum cake wouldn't go over well--it's the restaurant owner's favorite though, and her grandma's recipe. I don't think I have a choice without hurting my friend's feelings. I will just remember not to make too many servings of that particular dessert option. ;)
