Chris in VA
These books were recommended in Daring Book for Girls. Basic premise is that the Brothers Grimm stories are real stories of adventures that happened to them. Two sisters are descendants of them and the adventures are like detective stories. runamuk
My daughter is enjoying these books, too, and I liked the one I read. She also has the Daring Book for Girls and has chosen several other books to add to her reading list.
LaxMom
Mine is, too! (I confess, I have not read them at all.)
amy g.
My 11 year old LOVES these books!
nmoira
DD the Elder loves these, but wishes they were coming faster -- #8 is not due until next May, a year's wait from #7. That's the problem reading a series in progress... though we're overjoyed that Sea of Trolls #3 was finally released. :)
Bee
Although she says she may technically be considered too old for them, she still says "I adore them. They're wonderful." (And after she read them, she went on to read Grimms' original tales.) She is eagerly awaiting the next in the series. Younger dd is starting to read them too. melissel
We love them too! We've been listening to the audiobooks though. We were first introduced to them that way (I was just looking for some audiobooks, hadn't heard of the series before that), and the...narrator? reader?...is so wonderful that we've kept going that way. He really brings all the characters to life. We're in withdrawal waiting for #8 too. I'll have to check out the series nmoira mentioned. Desert Rat
My boys and I have read them all as read alouds. I love them and so do they!
amy g.
Miss Bossy has changed her name to Daphne Grimm. It has a nice ring to it.
Daisy
Are they scary? I've looked at them but not picked them up just because I thought they might be a bit scary for my 10yo. She has little experience with reading about monsters, paranormal, etc., although she has read several Fairy Tale books (Grimms, Lang). She hasn't read Harry Potter or Warriors or anything like that. So just how dark are these stories?
6packofun
These are current favorites here, too, along with The Name of This Book Is Secret and others by Pseudonymous Bosch. :D
hsmom3tn
We really like them here, too. :001_smile: Back when we read the first one, my kids didn't know who "Puck" was. It gave us a good reason to do a mini study on Shakespeare. :D
Lizzie in Ma
They are in her top 10 at the moment.
LibraryLover
My youngest enjoys these. Which reminds---didn't a new one come out this summer? I should check, as she will be tickled.

kewb
My kids love them! We are all so upset that the next book in the series is not available yet.
HayesW
Thank you! I just asked my MIL and SIL to get these for my oldest for Christmas. They look to be right up her alley!
