  1. Morning, everyone! I'm hoping for a calmer day than yesterday, when: 1. I came across a creepy guy trespassing in our woods and had to chase him off. (We live out in the back of beyond, miles away from neighbors and 1/2 mile back from the road, so there is no logical reason anyone would be on our land - plus, the woods he was in are so thick with sticker bushes that walking through there is very difficult. He claimed to think I was someone he knew named "Angie" and said he was "just crossing through". So strange.) and 2. Dh was backing out of the garage and a big snake tried to slither in :scared: and then it got very aggressive and snappy when he moved it. So now every time I go outside, I'm on high alert looking out for weird creeper guy and big scary snake. :glare: Today's list: •school •tidy up house •hay delivery (trying out a new supplier) •office work, pay bills, go over financial info with dh •make hardboiled eggs and a bowl of salad •get started on duolingo (I'm relearning all the Swedish that I've forgotten) •maybe ds17 golf lesson?? •dinner: sweet potato taco bowls
  2. Amy, thinking of you today and hoping you get the all clear! :grouphug: Let us know how it goes.
  3. Hugs to you and your sweet family. I think of your little Nate often.
  4. Good morning! I guess I better go grocery shopping today since there is basically nothing edible in our house. :tongue_smilie: We got takeout three times this weekend and even though it was somewhat healthy takeout, I feel gross. Gotta get back to my salads! •make shopping list •errands (bank, post office?, stop at vet's to pick up prescription, gas) •get groceries •school •dust/vacuum/my usual attempts at keeping this house clean •finish filing •dinner: Thai noodle bowls that I didn't make last night
  5. Hugs to you. I'm so sorry.
  6. Back when my kids went to school and were bringing home every germ known to humankind, I used to get bronchitis frequently. Twice, I coughed so hard that I broke a rib. Sooo painful... A couple years ago, I was walking in the door while carrying a large pizza box. I stumbled and ran into the door frame and the corner of the pizza box jammed right into my *ahem* chest area, leaving a huge bruise. A few days later, I was at the doctor for my yearly exam and she was aghast over how I managed to get such a big, ugly bruise in that location. :blushing: I have been bucked off, stepped on, kicked and bitten by horses more times than I count over my lifetime. You'd think I would learn my lesson and give it up, but I just keep coming back for more.
  7. Daddy long legs. :ack2: Those spindly legs creep me out so much. It never fails that once or twice a summer, one tries to climb up my leg and I scream so loud that my entire family comes running because they think I'm being murdered.
  8. Jean, here's the recipe: https://minimalistbaker.com/thai-noodle-bowls-almond-butter-tofu/
  9. Good morning! It's a cool and rainy day here - such a nice change from the hot and dry weather of the past couple weeks. Hoping for a lazy, relaxing day. We're running low on groceries, but I can't stand the thought of dealing with a crowded grocery store so it will have to wait until tomorrow. •plan my week •menu plan •work with horses •work with puppies (They are 3 months old now and Oliver has gotten very good at running up and down the stairs. Bluebell, aka the princess, will go down the stairs but refuses to go up and wants to be carried. However, she now weighs over 30 lbs. and is too big for me to lug around anymore, so today she is going to get some practice on going up steps. ;) ) •read and relax •dinner: Thai noodle bowls with almond butter tofu
  10. My dh used to grind his teeth in his sleep and went to the dentist to ask for advice. The dentist said that while dh could get a mouth guard, he would first recommend that every night before he fell asleep, dh should tell himself, "I am not going to grind my teeth tonight". Dh did so and the grinding immediately stopped. It's been about 25 years since then and he has never ground his teeth again. I know it sounds strange and unbelievable, but it was a very effective solution.
  11. I wear makeup, but I would never think that someone who doesn't is unreliable. That's a pretty weird assumption.
  12. :svengo: I'm getting palpitations just thinking about a snake in the rafters. Snakes need to stay far, far away from me.
  13. Good morning! •tidy up house •bathe horses •finish up a little bit of brush clearing •work w/horses and ride if it's not too hot (supposed to be 90* today, ugh) •do some puppy training •read & relax •dinner: ??? probably takeout because I'm not in the cooking mood this weekend
  14. Yes, exactly. The general should be the one overseeing the subs and making sure any problems are corrected.
  15. Ds and I watched that video yesterday. The guy who lifts his shirt to show his stomach tattoo...what the heck?
  16. Good morning! Dh and ds18 had to head out early today for a company golf outing, so ds and I were up at 4:30 doing horse chores in the pitch dark with a lantern. Now I'm sitting here with my coffee wishing I could go back to bed. •school •finish up paying bills •have to get some filing done because the cats keep knocking over the teetering mountain of papers on my desk •mop tile floors •put away Chewy order that arrived yesterday •dinner: ???
  17. Same here, but I was probably about 5 last time I had one. My mom used to split them open, fill them with cheese, wrap them in bacon and broil them.
  18. My favorite meal is one I get at least once a week from my favorite Japanese restaurant. It's soft shell crab tempura and a salad that is made with crabmeat, cucumber, radish, seaweed and scallions. So good!
  19. Good morning! •farrier will be here this morning to trim 2 horses' feet •school •office work (need to glue my butt to my desk chair so I don't get distracted by all the other things I'd rather be doing) •dd book club •make more salad to keep in fridge •dinner: chipotle chilaquiles
  20. We sleep with an assortment of dogs on our bed, but no stuffed animals.
  21. Yes, get him neutered young. We've had five male cats that were all neutered as youngsters and none of them have ever sprayed. Our females haven't, either.
  22. There are humane traps that allow you to catch the bird and then release it outside. This site sells them: https://www.birdbgone.com/products/bird-trapping-capture-nets/professional-live-bird-traps.html
