  1. We have some Starlings under our deck that make a static like, rattly noise.
  2. Bummer. I love that whole genre of laid back rock. Off to listen to Spotify.
  3. Yeah, don't think of it as cowering away. Think of it as striding confidently away from a bunch of @#$*()@# with your head held high.
  4. This is what I'd do. A nice, intimate lunch, just the two of you, would be really nice. You could actually talk and have a nice time.
  5. The only time I ever had a vegetarian say anything to me unsolicited about food was when I brought a garbanzo bean salad to a 4th of July party. She came over to thank me, it was pretty much the only thing there she could eat at that party besides chips, and asked for the recipe. I felt bad, because I knew the host would totally have gone out of his way to have vegetarian options if he had known about her diet.
  6. I voted no because I don't have chronic pain. But I do get some viscous headaches that can last 3-4 days and I don't know how people who are in constant pain, day in and day out, do it. I'm a pathetic mess after a couple days.
  7. I'm afraid to Google but I need to know. Where does one get stung to increase fertility?
  8. This is one of his listings. He literally had a loading dock full of stacks and stacks of these. We picked the pattern we liked, dug out enough for our basement and were set. It's actually a nice business he's got going, recycling these so they don't all wind up in landfills. https://grandrapids.craigslist.org/mat/6102064247.html
  9. He goes to offices that are being renovated and pulls them up and resells them. Their first life was in an office so there isn't much wear. It's not like they had pets and small children spilling on them. They also didn't have any noticeable smell, like you might get from a household with cooking odors and such. But they were quite dusty and needed an aggressive vacuuming. Once they were down and cleaned they look good as new. He had several different patterns and colors so you'd really have to pick through and find something that would look nice in a bedroom. I'm sure with paint, furniture and the like they'd be welcoming.
  10. My 8.5 year old has been in chiropractic care since he was 4 and he still wets the bed. I love chiropractic but I don't believe that it can cure everything. If a kid wets the bed there are issues with the brain and wakefulness, I don't know if that can be corrected by alignment.
  11. You've mentioned in the past you live in Western MI. We found a fella on Craigslist who works in a teensy tiny town a few miles out past the new outlet mall in GR who had recycled carpet squares for ridiculously cheap. They obviously come from an office and you can tell they aren't brand new, but since they were just going in our basement school room we drove out there and picked up a van load. They went down easily and for much cheaper than buying new.
  12. My family is fully vaxxed, I personally think they are good things. However, I strongly believe that no one should be forced into vaccinations if they don't want to.
  13. My Grandma got her test done and found the expected English, Scottish, Irish. We were slightly surprised to find a small percentage of Scandinavian that we weren't expecting. We were even more surprised to find a teensy bit of North African, Moroccan, Spanish and Jewish. We discovered this just as we were covering the Islamic invasion of Spain in History so we were tickled pink to make that likely person connection.
  14. Could you get a properly done little pixie cut? I have seen some absolutely adorable little girls with short cuts. You can do soft, lacy headbands and simply use a soft little goat hair brush for smoothing.
  15. Not getting teary. Nope. Not today. Also - Not the exhibit people were expecting to see that day.
  16. Thank you, all! She loves country but I know nothing about the genre, so I'll check some of those out.
  17. My Aunt is coming off the back end of an unexpected and very hurtful divorce. One thing that's helped her through this ordeal has been her new found faith. Prior to the divorce, her life was quite isolated and lonely. But now she's found this whole new community, made friends, joined several service groups and Bible studies and even got Baptized before Easter. She found a lovely new house and has plans to do an out west road trip, which is something that she's always wanted to do but her ex never did. She's starting all over again in her late 50's and is grabbing life with two hands! She' really transformed into this amazing woman and frankly, it's quite the honor being part of her life! My Mom and Dad have been spending a lot of time with her, helping her through legal issues, house hunting and such. Mom takes an exercise class and one of the songs they work out to is "Flawless" by Mercy Me. She asked if I could burn it to a disc for my Aunt. I was a teen in the 90's so mix tapes are in my blood! You can't have a mix tape with just one song! I'd love to get suggestions from you all of uplifting, encouraging, songs. So far I have: "Free to Be Me" Franchesca Battistelli "Overcomer" Mandisa "Flawless" Mercy Me "Greater" Mercy Me "Tell Your Heart to Beat Again" Danny Gokey
  18. For our first and only home my DH qualified for a no down payment VA loan.
  19. I read Sandra Boynton's "Barnyard Dance" book to my 2 year old today.
  20. Yeah. Sometimes you just want to make sure you don't have lunch in your teeth.
  21. We had the worst time finding an Easter dress for my 11 y/o. All the dresses were either cutsie little girl styles or hubba-hubba mature teen clothes. We finally went to Justice and she was in heaven. The dresses were (for the most part) very appropriate length, neck line and strap width and she was very happy with the colors, decorations and styles. They can be pricey though. But we hit a good sale and she had a hard time picking two out of the pile she liked.
  22. We have two cats, one is shy. However, he has a sixth sense about people with allergies or who just don't like cats. He's on them like a magnet. Follows them around demanding attention, jumps into their laps. We lock in up because he's so forward. Now, if I try to pet him he's all "Begone, peasant!" Go figure. It may be best if you find someone to lock the cats up overnight with them in their room.
