I sing in a Sweet Adeline chorus, so I have rehearsal one night a week. Even though it requires effort, it's so fun that it's definitely "me" time! When I was a kid, we had a big metal trash can filled with dirt in our cellar and that's where we kept all the root vegetables from my grandparents' garden. I made it! I just followed the instructions given and some I found online. It turned out well, although I didn't really love the soup I made with it. We have enjoyed having mice for almost 20 years - different ones, of course, as they are not a long-lived pet. :( We buy them from the pet store and my daughter plays with them a few times a week. They are healthy and seem happy enough in their cage, which we clean weekly. We've gotten a pair of females every time except for the time my daughter fell in love with a male. We just had him by himself, but he was incredibly stinky. The females are definitely less stinky. We choose mice over rats because as much as I have wanted rats, I know I don't have the time to devote to them. Mice are much less effort. My daughter - 11 - and my mother as I will be spending a few days in Denver in March. Can you recommend some of your favorite things to do, please? We'll be staying in Centennial at an AirBnB to be close to my brother and sister-in-law, and we'll be seeing friends in Westminster and Longmont, so we'll definitely have a car. We like to see unusual things, but we're also happy to do touristy things. Some outdoor activities would be okay, too, although we will have flown in, so we won't have any special gear with us. Plus, my mother isn't up for a hike up a mountain. A long walk, sure, but nothing super-strenuous. So far, we're planning on going to the aquarium. We're having a sick day today. We both have sore throats and runny noses. If we HAD to be somewhere - not just something fun where we're spreading germs to our friends! - we could rally, but since we don't have to be anywhere, we're staying in bed. We're ahead in school right now, and honestly - it's fun to snuggle. We're rarely sick, so I don't stress about taking the occasional day when we need to recharge. When I was a kid in the '80s, my mother used this stuff called Fanci-Full hair rinse in a shade called Frivolous Fawn. I just found some and tried it on my going-grey hair, and I LOVE IT!!! My gray hair is effectively covered and everything looks natural. I feel like kicking up my hooves! (Plus, it reminds me of how my mother's hair smelled when I was a kid. We were lucky enough to have cleaning people who did the bathroom in our suite. We were all pretty clean, but when we moved into our sorority house the next year, we still had to remind some girls about basic standards of cleanliness. Good for your son and his suite mates! I have a friend who is a DO, and the depth of the holistic approach definitely varies by the program. I'm finishing up the last of my prerequisites this year - A&P and microbiology - and then I'll start an 18-month ASN program in January of 2018. I have a previous bachelor's degree, so I'll do an additional 30 credits to get my BSN once I've worked for at least a year. Now back to memorizing cranial bones... This is one of the major differences that I wanted to mention. Nursing focuses on caring for the patient as a whole, while medicine diagnoses disease. It may seem insignificant, but it's actually very different. I'm a pre-nursing student and my friend is a pre-PA student and even at this stage in our education, we have different aspects that we focus on. Best of luck to your son! We've had two family members with trusts that caused huge issues. In one case, the only people who did well were the lawyers and the investment banker...while the family member whom the trust was supposed to benefit lived in poverty. Truly.
