  1. In our area there are two classes - ON the lake and NOT on the lake. For the "not", distance is irrelevant. You can be a block away or a mile and it's the same. The only difference would be if you're in a neighborhood with private lake access -like a beach or boat ramp. Otherwise being "near" the lake doesn't affect price. We've done FSBO and would again if we were in the area. I didn't find it that terrible. I would recommend paying for an excellent lawyer to manage the paperwork side. Be prepared for people expecting a "deal". They don't get that you've priced it competitively, including discounts for no Realtors. They'll still think you should take even more off. Have a plan for buying agents, too. What commission do they get? Etc. When we were selling we got A LOT of requests to rent to own.... Rent.... And other (seriously) stupid out of the box plans that were NOT in our interest. Be ready. It's business, not personal. Have an exit plan in case the FSBO doesn't work. Hope it works out for you!
  2. I'm helping plan and purchase a light Continental breakfast for a church conference. I'm planning for 100. Coffee will be provided. We're thinking light pastry, fruit, maybe some hard-boiled eggs, yogurt... Not fancy, minimal silverware, no seating. Here's the thing - I HATE FOOD WASTE. I can't stand when we overplan and either have to throw stuff out or waste money. Yes, we donate what we can, but some of it HAS to be chucked. So, what would you recommend we serve and how much of each to buy? I know there are some pros here and if hugely appreciate your help!!!
  3. Not ebags, but I bought an Eagle Creek 22" rolling backpack from Sierra Trading that is AWESOME. It's carry on size, wheeled, long handle, study, and a detachable second pack on top. Other than the price ($150) it's the perfect week or less travel item. Highly recommend!!
  4. Both of my kids are doing the AP Comp Sci Programming. It's been great and a steal at $150.
  5. Since starting WW mine have become minimal. I eat almost no refined sugar, and I eat a lot of fruit and veg. I eat non fat Greek yogurt and almond milk, but very little other dairy. I eat some bread and oatmeal in my overnight oats every day, but otherwise not a lot of refined carbs. And, almost no processed foods. It's been amazing how much the hot flashes disappeared. I have no idea if it's diet or weight loss but I'm glad they're mostly gone.
  6. FWIW the guidelines are about ADDED sugar. I assume that means naturally occurring sugar, for most people without existing health conditions (or pre conditions), are fine to eat. Milk, fruit, starchy veg, etc. I eat loads of fruit every day and I'm totally fine with that. I eat almost zero ADDED sugar.
  7. If you want to REALLY shock yourself, weigh it out and look at it. It's amazing.
  8. Since joining WW in July, yes. The whole family about 5 days out of 7. Me, every day expect traveling (and then it's probably close). Before that, not a chance.
  9. GA MOWR (DE) POLICY One to two semester hour credits = .5 high school unit credit Three to five semester hour credits = 1 high school unit credit One to three quarter hour credits = .5 high school unit credit Four to eight quarter hour credits = 1 high school unit credit
  10. What a privilege to read about this amazing young woman. She's must have touched so many people. I am so sorry for your lost. We are here for you. Love and hugs. Praying for you and your beautiful family as you grieve.
  11. I think at 14 your dd should have more self control over her outbursts (assuming she's NT). I'd explain it doesn't really matter how passionate she is, she cannot control other people and being ugly won't inspire them. She needs to apologize if she hurt a friend. I'd she can't get control over her attitude and words I'd consider having her sit out until she can. Really. The activity is way less important than her need to learn self control and team dynamics.
  12. Larry we'd be great friends IRL since I agree withv most of what you post! Lol! Totally agree that asynchronous online classes require discipline and organization well beyond what is needed for a live class. I get age, but what's the rush? If they're 2-3 years behind, then work through summers and graduate a year later. Or, work diligently now and dual enroll later (which is like double time).
  13. I weigh in once a week. Beyond that my fluctuations are demotivating for me. I have been on WW since July and am down 51+ pounds. I lost 5.2 on Freestyle this month. I'm solidly in peri, nearing 50. I have about 25 to go. I agree with others that said to test how many weekly and fit points you need to lose. Some really do lose better eating all of those. I eat really clean with minimal sugar. I don't go nuts on zero foods but I do eat a lot of fruit (3 apples and a couple cops of berries a day isn't unusual). I have one bigger meal a week (usually pizza). I track and measure everything. I don't work out a ton but am increasing my daily steps. I'm missing the Beyond the Scale Program, but I lost with other WW programs and I'm confident I will with this one too. Yes, I'm a bit of a kool aid drinker, but I think it works and a longer trial will be worth the time of anyone just starting out. And the claim is .5-2# a week, but I know I always focus on the 2 end. ðŸ˜
  14. Look for equivalency tables on websites. From my research it looks like DE credits from larger, 4 year colleges are more likely to be accepted than CC credits. AP seems even more hit or miss. Small, private, online colleges seem like the least likely to be accepted. And, since I'm old and turning into my parents, the reality is that colleges are businesses. It's not to their advantage to accept a lot of transfer credit from anywhere since they make a whole lot less on a regular year student versus for year. I'd also suspect their might be transfer fees that add on to tuition you've already paid for those classes. It'll be interesting to see the pendulum of DE/AP/college in high school swing back. I don't think it'll be long before it swings back to be an exception and not the rule.
  15. We're doing So Verbose freshman English. It's a perfectly reasonable high school English course. Grading is fast, teacher communicates well.
  16. Ok! Off to audible (I spend too much time in my car!)
  17. Hit me with a great book recommendation. :-)
  18. Totally agree. Anything flavored... Watch out! Even the tiny lower sugar Siggi bottles have loads of sugar.
  19. FWIW, every liquid yogurt I've looked at is LOADED with sugar.
  20. Don't bring anything into the house you don't want her eating. Treats will be just that. Smoothies. Unsweetened yogurt, fruit, maybe a protein powder, unsweetened almond milk. You can make taco, pizzas, and burgers very healthy.
  21. I don't use or track fit points. I am doing a personal goal of 6500/day this month. Then I'll l add 500/day/month. No rush. Favorite snack: 1T stevia sweetened pudding mix and about 2/3 cup fat free fage blended together, topped with defrosted frozen blueberries. (1) Fresh veg and hummus (2-3 depending on how much hummus) Turkey (0) on a Joseph's pita bread (1) Fruit and yogurt (dannon no artificial sweeteners) 2 SP The BAwaffle topped with warmed blueberries and yogurt (5) Scrambled egg with turkey sausage and veg (1) Connect has tons of great ideas I'm down 51.4!
  22. Heated seats. I live in the Deep South and they're still awesome.
  23. I'd go, and leave of you need to. After that week, some time with friends and fresh air would do you some good!
