  1. I have a MacBook running Firefox and it works just fine for me when I want to watch netflix movies.
  2. We love Dexter here too. We are WAITING for disc 2 of season 3. Netflix says there is a long wait.
  3. Well that sucks. Don't get me started on stupid insurance companies, I'm still ranting from the bill I got this morning for meds.
  4. My DH recently started taking this. He has not had any side effects. So far so good.
  5. in the past 3 months. How can that be? I really hate Medco. Last year the medicine was $80, now three months later it is $160. Even according to their website a 90 day supply is $160 from Medco but a retail pharmacy will charge $10 for a 30 day supply (full cost without insurance). This is madness. Being forced into using Medco by mail is meant to save us and our insurance company money. This is not the case. I think I need to just pay out of pocket and bypass Medco for this medicine. I wish I had known the crazy price before I had to order it. I already pay for two other meds out-of-pocket because it is cheaper than using Medco. :glare: Mad!
  6. We are not morning people. We rarely get up before 8 a.m. I just signed my son up for the ACT and he has to be there before 8 a.m. and it is a good 45 minutes away. So we'll have to leave here at 7 a.m. Okay, whine over. I guess we'll both drink lots of coffee. :001_smile:
  7. I use those yellow sponges with a green scrubby thing on one side. We do all our dishes by hand. I wash the dishes with the sponge in hot soapy water and then rinse the dishes in hot water. Every couple of weeks the sponge gets thrown out and replaced.
  8. I have not used DVD's for Saxon Math. 5th grade is really easy and I just go over the lessons with my kids and then they work on the problems. My oldest is now doing Saxon's Advanced Mathematics and we still haven't needed the DVD's. Also, if there is one topic that your child needs extra help with there are lots of videos on just about any topic you need on youtube.
  9. I love grocery shopping. I love cooking and eating good food. I do get tired of doing the dishes though. Grocery shopping is my favorite kind of shopping. I guess I'm weird!
  10. I had a doula for my second and third births. I had a wonderful experience, unmedicated births just like I wanted. I only wish that I had one for my first birth and perhaps I could have avoided the c-section. I loved my doulas, they were both wonderful. My first doula moved away which is why I hired a different one for my third birth. They both visited once after the birth and bought dinner over for the family.
  11. I would go and get checked out. My mom had tinnitus before Christmas and went completely deaf in that ear within a two week period. She has had various tests and will be permanently deaf. Go get checked out to be on the safe side.
  12. My son prefers to wear a dog tag on a chain that has his allergy info. You can order them from various places on the internet.
  13. Yes, the recipe is the same. I just portion the dough out into bread rolls.
  14. I make bread rolls. They are better to make sandwiches. Plus it is easy to adjust the size and they seem to last longer because I can say you only get one bread roll right now. So I use the bread maker to do all the kneading and first rise. Then I take out the dough, portion into bread rolls let them rise again in a warm oven and then bake.
  15. I have a Sunbeam bread maker and it does just fine, especially for the $50 that I paid for it. I mostly use it to mix and knead the dough as I like to make bread rolls.
  16. It was an interesting article. He states a lot of things that I have spent time thinking about. I have always thought that it was strange that the gov't subsidizes the foods that are used in highly processed unhealthy foods. I wish things would change and that instead the gov't would subsidize real food like fruits and vegetables. No wonder all the highly processed foods are so cheap and the healthy fruits and vegetables are so expensive.
  17. Boma at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. My kids still talk about this restaurant. We're considering a trip where we just stay the the Lodge and eat at Boma.
  18. Sounds like what we just recovered from. I would take two Unisom Quick Melt sleeping pills. They really helped me sleep through it all, which helped a lot right there.
  19. I really think I need a vacation. My husband doesn't like to travel so once again it will be just the kids and I. I want to go some where warm and tropical, safe, and family friendly. I'm thinking about Belize or Costa Rica would be really nice. I'm trying to get up the nerve to take the kids by myself. Last year I tried something safe just to see how I managed by myself with the 3 kids and we vacationed for 3 weeks in Florida and the Bahamas. Where would you go if you could go somewhere for a month?
  20. I try to limit snacking and they certainly DO NOT get free range. I like to stick to this schedule: Breakfast Lunch Mid-afternoon snack (usually a fruit smoothie) Dinner Bed time snack (usually a piece of fruit or a protein shake) If someone is moaning that they are really hungry and they can't wait their choice is an apple, banana, or a cheese stick.
  21. Everyone has their own computer here. DS#1 has a HP laptop. DS#2 and DS#3 both have a Mac Mini. I have a MacBook. My husband has a high end Lenovo Laptop that he uses for work.
  22. What kinds of things do you clash over? Do you just need to be firmer with him? Do you need to be a little more tolerant? I know that my youngest was a handful until he turned 6 or so and he has been much better since then. I had to be REALLY firm with him about things, expected behavior, etc.... My other two boys were not like that. Hang in there. :grouphug:
