IMO if your dog is sitting quietly then just ignore them and just let them be. Just let the dog sit quietly next to you. You don't need to praise the dog for behaving. However, if the dog does NOT behave then they have to get OFF the couch. Every time they do not behave tell them to get off. "Tsk, off!" They will learn. Mine are allowed on the couch. If they are sitting in my spot they know to move if they see me coming. They are not allowed up if I'm eating on the couch. Plus, if I tell them off, they get down.

This is why I am not big fan about setting up activities anymore. People are just flakey, they drop out at the last minute, no phone call, no email, they just don't show up. I'm sick of it. Even casual events where people that I'm pretty friendly with, say they will show up and then don't. No call, no email. Nothing. The kids get all disappointed that they don't have any friends to play with and we end up sitting there by ourselves. Three of my friends said they were meeting me at skating the other week and no one showed up. :glare:

It could be impetigo. It does look like ringworm though. You need to see a doctor about that ASAP. My son had ringworm on his scalp and it took prescription meds given for weeks and weeks to clear it up.

We've been doing more and more with a couple of meetup groups that we belong to. It takes a little while to get to know people in the group and make connections but you have to start somewhere.

My son recently took a driver's ed class. There were about 40 students in the class. Some of the students were homeschooled and some were tracked out from the local private school. DS said that the kids from the private school constantly spoke with each other while the teacher was lecturing. That the kids had their cell phones out texting and stuff. He said they were very disrespectful and the teacher even threaten to throw them out of the class. DS said the homeschooled students were quiet and respectful.

Fruitcake. :D I asked kids what they wanted for Christmas and the only thing they asked for was for me to make homemade fruitcake. Which I still need to do because the longer it sits, the better it gets. Other than that, I have no idea at this point.

I opened a new bank account and entered my new account number to pay my credit card. Apparently, unbeknown to me, I missed a few numbers that are added onto the end of your account number and the payment wouldn't go through. There is a $25 fee for that. As soon as I found out the payment didn't go through I paid from another account and well before the due date. I have since figured out what additional numbers I need but wasn't given that information by my new credit union when I opened the account. I complained to the credit card people and they said they will remove the charge but still. :glare:

We are having tofurky. My kids love it and wait all year for Thanksgiving and Christmas so they can have tofurky with mushroom gravy and homemade cranberry sauce.

I have a Standard Poodle. They are really smart, love kids, and don't shed but do require regular hair cuts.

She is a grown up - so really there isn't anything you can do. I have a MIL that calls and asks for money because she can't afford her expensive cell phone plan or cable tv. Duh! :glare:

Usually when someone moans about things being easy or repetitive I just tell them that cooking and doing dishes is pretty easy and repetitive and that I'm going to stop doing it. Usually straightens them right out. Boys do not like the thought of missing meals. :D

My two sons and I are vegetarians, we just can't seem to make that final leap to become vegans. We don't eat many eggs but do eat cheese. We'd really miss cheese.
