  1. OMG!!! YES!!! I just got my first air fryer (Ninja Double Basket Foodi) and my red heeler is absolutely terrified of the beeping it makes. She will shake uncontrollably, then eventually go upstairs and hide. It’s so sad! It actually makes me want to not use it unless necessary! I’ve tried giving her a snack every time I turn it on (maybe a positive association???), but it hasn’t worked yet. I don’t know about it hurting their ears though, bc my boxer isn’t bothered a bit by it. Not at all. It’s so weird though—I use beeping timers in the kitchen all the time, the microwave beeps…no problem at all. Just the air fryer! ETA: This is the one I have that terrifies my dog. It’s just a normal sounding beep to me, maaaaybe slightly louder than the oven timer.🤷🏻‍♀️
  2. I’m not the one you asked, but I wanted to say I use Timeless and really like it. I don’t use many face products, but this one has been a keeper for me!
  3. Bingo! Now you don’t have to be mystified. 😉 I do feel your pain, though. Completely get it.
  4. Do you know if a parent has high bp? Like you, I was completely mystified when I found out my bp was high. I had actually made changes to my exercise and diet that year and was literally in the best shape of my adult life. Healthy weight, healthy diet, exercise 5X a week, only one cup of coffee a day, no smoking/drinking. It was crazy! I discovered it at an eye exam. The nurse used one of those (crappy) finger bp things and the reading was so high it would’ve been “go to the er” level, so she was like that’s not right. Called the eye doctor in and she told me that I should just go to a pharmacy and check it on one their machines. Did that, still high. Like you, it was the bottom number that was the high one. Mostly hovering around 100-105. Made an appt with my doctor, she had me check it at home at various times of the day and also come in 3X a week to check it in office. After 2 weeks of high readings (a few normal mixed in, but too many highs), she put me on a very low dose of medicine. I was pretty bummed about it, but she said since my mom and dad had high bp that it was most likely hereditary and I couldn’t change that. YMMV, but that’s my story of being shocked I had high bp 🙂
  5. You can be unaware/“knocked out” without having what’s known as general anesthesia. It’s possible your surgeon/anesthesiologist could use spinal, epidural, adductor canal block or combination of the three.
  6. Oddly enough, I finished the book I was reading on Saturday night and started a new one last night after midnight—so that’s kind of fun! I’m branching out from my usual light, British mysteries to read None of This is True. We’ll see…
  7. Vodka Mojito is my favorite! (It’s not “sweet”, but it is light and refreshing!)
  8. I will wear sneakers any time the temps are above about 55. YMMV 🤷🏻‍♀️
  9. Outdoorsy stuff for ds11? camping mat headlamp multi tool sleeping bag Small waterproof bag We got our kids an axe at that age and a Swiss Army knife. (11) Not cheap—but a gaming chair? Headphones (gaming/Turtle Beach maybe?)
  10. @ShepCarlin Those are all cute! I especially like the first link sweater. I have these pants and they are super comfortable, even though they look nice on. I’m 5’5”, but I buy them in “short” so they’re a bit cropped. I pair them with a cute shirt/sweater and some sneakers with no-show socks (or sandals in the summer) I feel like it looks pulled-together even though I’m comfortable.
  11. Can you link a couple of things you’re interested in there so we can see your style? I’ve recently discovered these bras and *love* them. I bought one, tried it out, then went back for 2 more. My favorite comfortable-casual-but look good-pants are Athleta. They’re expensive, but I found them at the thrift store for $4. I’ve since ordered another pair (slightly different style) from their online store and like them too, but not as much as my original pair. Very good quality!
  12. Their live plant section can be good, if you’re into plants/pots/etc. I agree with PP to take pictures of what you’re interested in (with label visible on where to get it in the warehouse). My favorite things from there have definitely been the Kallax shelves (we have multiple sizes/colors throughout our house) and the Hemnes chest of drawers. I also have a 100% cotton duvet cover on my bed that I’ve had for over 6 years and it’s still going strong. It’s a king size duvet cover and shams and I think it was like 30 bucks at the time. And I’m pretty picky with bedding! Have fun! (And report back 😁)
  13. @Sweets I’d be upset about that too! And it’s definitely not your fault that it happened or that you reacted. You gave a great gift—it isn’t your fault that everything went south.
  14. I have one of those giant IKEA Kallax 5 cube by 5 cube shelves FULL of books and homeschooling materials. My goal for months has been to scale down on all that stuff, but homeschooling stuff is basically impossible to sell nowadays, and I can’t bear the thought of the thrift store just trashing it. I’ve donated some good, usable products to our co-op. And some I can’t part with, so that’s on me. I’ve always been a curriculum junkie, and I need to get brutal. My second area that I need to be brutal with is our linens closet. I want to get rid of every sheet and pillowcase that doesn’t have a match, things that have a stain/hole, blankets the kids don’t use anymore, etc. My third area—my closet. Just ugh. I’ve got so much crap in there that I don’t wear, don’t like, doesn’t fit, too old—you name it. It NEEDS TO GO!!

  16. What a sweet story—thank you for sharing! I absolutely adore 2-year olds and their thoughts and language and expressions—just all of it really. So cute.
  17. My teenage sons still watch the Good Luck Charlie Christmas every year! They watched it when they were young and still love it and watch it every year.
  18. A Fire at the Exhibition (A Lady Hardcastle Mystery #10) by T.E. Kinsey. Oddly enough, this book also shows up in my stats at the highest rated among readers. (I guess out of the books on my shelf) ETA: the above was my LAST, not my least lol. My LEAST shelved book was Dead Hot by MK Coker. 334 people shelved it.
  19. Rum cake Brownies (for the people who don’t like rum cake 😁)
  20. This is all such good information. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I’m loving hearing all of it!
  21. Oooo…I like the pan slot idea above an oven. Excellent use of space. Thanks!
  22. Next question: If you do a separate gas cooktop with a single wall oven, do you prefer the oven to be below your cooktop, or elsewhere mid-wall?
  23. @Clarita good points to think about—thanks. I have considered the “if the microwave goes out/replace it all” scenario and have concerns about that. Originally, I hands-down wanted the double-ovens, gas cooktop, and separate microwave set-up. But it takes up SO much counter space to have it all separate like that! Plus, I’m not even sure I bake enough for two ovens. So now I’m considering other options. But I’m not sold on any one option yet.
