@kbutton Yes to texture! I like things with texture. FWIW, my current bedding is not solid—so doing solids is new for me. I’ll get some color and patterns in whatever artwork I choose. And maaaaybe my throw pillows, possibly my throw blanket.

I think those are just “palettes” of colors that go together—so you’re correct, some of the ones in both are likely to be the same (or similar at least). I just prefer all of my colors to be light or muted. And that’s interesting about migraines—I had no idea color could do that! Bummer though.

@SHP It’s funny you said that, bc I was thinking about this later and how some people adore color and bold, bright walls and linens and paint, etc and how some are like nope lol. I’m definitely a nope. As a matter of fact, color makes me anxious. Which probably sounds weird. I’m definitely not trying to be hgtv, I’m trying to be calm and relaxed so I can sleep. 😅

This is a good idea! I don’t have accessories that I’ll be matching. Other than knowing I must have my white sheets and this furniture! So I could go with whatever.

You all are so good at this stuff! If the master BR has WHITE walls, my wood bed/tables/chest is a CREAM color, and sheets are WHITE, which duvet color should I choose? Tannish linen? Cornflower? Sea Glass? Sage? Those are my top contenders. More info—I like very soft, muted colors like blues/greens/whites, etc. Think cottage-y. I don’t want it to look dated/old bc the house is already kind of dated/old so I’m trying to make the master BR as fresh and relaxing as possible! I’m thinking these curtains. Any input or thoughts? Bed: (note that will NOT be the wall color behind the bed. Walls will be white)

Happy Late Birthday, Dawn! This all reminds me of a skit from my favorite comedian. This guy’s humor is right up my alley and this bit is hilarious.

You could try milk paint. Supposedly it’s easier to work with than chalk paint, but I don’t know enough to say if that’s true. I love this lady’s videos and tutorials. I’ve only used her milk paint for a big mirror frame, so not furniture, but it was nice to work with.

I don’t know about that particular brand, but I know my mil uses an electric skillet for cooking messy things outdoors. Like fried ham, bacon, etc. splatters don’t dirty up her kitchen and those foods typically smell up the house as well.

Mojitos are my favorite cocktail! If you want it to be less sprite-y, try using club soda and adding simple syrup. You can control the sweetness that way too. Also, it’s even better if you muddle your mint leaves first. So add ice to a slim, tall glass. Then add your mint leaves, limes, and simple syrup. Muddle. (Smash the leaves around a bit with the ice and syrup). Then fill the rest of the glass with club soda. Yum! This is the recipe I use. ETA: Limes! I forgot to say limes—gotta have those, obviously!!

Poor baby! I’d do as others suggested and call all 3 doctors’ offices and try to get in. I also agree about the hydrocortisone—unless it’s just crazy-itchy (I hope it isn’t!), I don’t think that’s the best choice for a baby’s face, especially so close to the eyes. We’ve had good luck with this, although my kid is a teenager now, not a baby. I hope he can be seen today and gets some relief!

For everyone who love Rao’s, just want to make sure you know about Sam’s having it! It’s about $10 for a 2-pack there. As an alternative, I’d like to suggest that the Rao’s lovers try Mezzetta Marinara. I‘m not sure, but if you look at some of the nickel-free earrings at kohls you’ll see the metal listed as “sterling silver”, or “iron”, or “sterling silver with gold plating”. I just know the ones that don’t bother me are the ones that just say sterling silver, so I stick with them. But my impression is that there are different variations of nickel-free (which I think is what hypoallergenic means in earrings, but not certain on that)

I wish I knew exactly what bothers my ears bc my dh bought me a lovely pair of earrings from a jewelry store a few years back and after wearing them for about 30 minutes or less, my earring holes start itching like crazy. And burn a little too. We thought maybe bc the post is a larger diameter than most of my earrings.?? Or maybe they have nickel. ?? I have no idea.

I go to kohls and pick out whichever sterling silver earrings I like. I’ve found that those never give me a reaction, and they’re pretty cheap. I also need a very thin post/hook so I always get either the fish hook style or the hoops that go all the way around. So basically, I never wear actual post earrings. I have no idea if it’s the nickel that causes my earring holes to itch, but I know the sterling silver/nickel-free from kohls never bother me, so that’s what I buy. example:
