  1. Agreeing with above. It should be taken with arm level, so like at a kitchen table. Legs not crossed. Also, like @Arcadiamentioned, cuff size is *very* important. Could you take her somewhere to check and see if she needs a kid size cuff? If the cuff is too loose, the bp will measure lower than accurate. So, even if you have the right size cuff, make sure you/dc is getting the tightness correct. It shouldn’t slide or move, but be secure (but not excessively tight).
  2. I add mine later because I cook my roast for a LONG time! Here’s how I do it: night before: put seasoned roast in foil and wrap completely. Put in the crock pot and cook on low til morning. Don’t add liquid! morning: open the foil and pour the juices into the bottom of the crock pot. Place your carrots and potatoes in. Place roast back on top. Cook on low 4-6 hours until the veggies are tender. We’d usually eat this meal for lunch that day.
  3. I love Fitness Blender workouts. It’s the only thing I’ve stuck to consistently. They are free and there are a ton of them. Low impact options, cardio, HIIT, strength, etc. When I first started with them, I just found two that I really liked (one lower body and one upper body) and just alternated those two videos each day. Then during covid, I upped my game and bought real weights (PowerBlocks) and purchased one of their programs (Blend) for about $15. This kept me accountable and helped a lot because I like checking off each day’s work out. Anyway, you could easily do Fitness Blender workouts
  4. I like it all the ways listed above! I love avocados. But my most common way to eat it is to toast a good slice of bread (I like Ezekiel flax), mash the avocado and spread on the toast, then top with Everything but the Bagel Seasoning. I also like it mashed with cilantro and garlic salt added, spread on two slices of bread, with a fried egg, bacon, lettuce, and tomatoes. So delicious and filling! I had this at a B&B for breakfast and it has long been a favorite now.
  5. @marbel I hope you like it! I really like my salads varied so I don’t get bored with them. I love za’tar seasoning (I have World Market’s brand) sprinkled on a salad along with the nutritional yeast. So yummy with an oily dressing!
  6. I only eat it two ways, but love it (and I’m not a vegan). 1) air popped popcorn, melted butter, nutritional yeast 2) sprinkled on whatever salad I’m eating with vinaigrette dressing.
  7. I don’t have a dressing recipe (prob just olive oil, S&P, vinegar) but the first time I had it was on a spinach salad with strawberries, feta, and pecan halves. So, so yummy! eta: I think the brand I used to buy was the refrigerated Marzetti. It was a white balsamic dressing. But I haven’t been able to find it in ages.
  8. I agree with everyone else. I’d find dc another class that they’d be excited about and drop this one. I’d absolutely give outschool a very detailed feedback/review so they can (hopefully) take action. I agree with the above poster that this does reflect poorly on outschool, so hopefully they’d want to know AND do something about it. IMO, it really doesn’t matter that this is just for fun, or even how cheap it is or isn’t, or whatever—by doing these things, she isn’t doing what you paid for and is failing on her commitment. I also don’t think telling her would change anything in her behavior, b
  9. Well, I ended up ordering this coat to give a try. I know it’s nowhere near the quality of the LE or LLBean, but I figured for the price I’d give it a go. I can always order one of the others in Nov if this one doesn’t work out. I still have some winter left this year to try it out. I kind of like that it isn’t down, even if that means it won’t be nearly as warm. Obviously I don’t want it to be just a ‘fashion’ coat because it gets really cold here, but it gets good reviews so I’ll see I guess. Thanks for your input everyone! I’ll keep it on hand in case this one is truly a poor coat
  10. This^^ I don’t know much about the surgery or recovery, but my aunt had this surgery done many years ago because it was really getting in the way of her vision. She most definitely isn’t the type of person who does cosmetic things, but truly needed and benefited from this surgery. (I’m pretty sure she doesn’t wear makeup or use anti-aging creams or anything). It was both eyes though, not just one that was droopy.
  11. Have your tried high rise? Not only are they currently in style (which means widely available), but I’ve found they stay up way better on me than most jeans. I like Kut from the Kloth for my body shape.
  12. Yes, exactly. I personally know a couple of people (in the north) who always make fun of some places I’ve lived (in the south) for shutting down when there’s a couple of inches of snow— like it’s hysterical and everyone down there are idiots, but when the towns don’t own snow shovels and are completely unprepared to salt and shovel, do they WANT people out driving?! Goodness, I hope not! So yes, shut down please. (I know this is off topic but I really appreciate hearing this perspective for a refreshing change @MEmama😊)
  13. Ok, this is good info. Looks like I need to bite the bullet and get it bc a sale won’t happen probably, or try the Lands End one. 🤔
  14. That’s really kind of you! Thank you. I’ll let you know. 🙂
  15. I hear ya! -10, ‘Feels like’ -24 here 🥶
  16. That is very similar! Hmmm...something to think about. Thanks!
  17. Yeah, I bought a ‘real’ winter coat 3 winters ago when we moved to our first legit cold climate. It has worked out well and is still going strong! (Columbia brand). BUT, it hits right above the knee and is perfect for normal, everyday use. But man, when it’s really cold and I’m walking the dogs or something, I *really* wish I had one that goes ALL the way past my knees! I kind of wish I had bought this 3 years ago, because I only for sure know I’d need a coat of this magnitude for two more. At that price, I’m not sure 2 years would be worth it. But I’m awfully tempted! And may get it just to b
  18. Does anyone have this coat? I’m thinking of getting it, but I’ve never ordered from LL Bean. I’m wondering 1) will this ever go on sale? 2) sizing? I fall right between two sizes and would prefer to not order both since they don’t have free return shipping Thanks!
  19. I have these as well and like them.
  20. Ok, I’m reporting back because my stuff came in the mail today! The package is a stand up, white opaque, thick plastic bottle with a pump dispenser. The consistency of mine seems to be a bit thinner than my rx tretinoin cream. It comes out white, and then rubs in to a clear, thin consistency. It seems nice, but definitely not ‘creamy’ to me or thick at all.
  21. Oh my! I wasn’t expecting that. 😳Not sure what I thought they’d be eating, but still wasn’t expecting that!
  22. I don’t think it matters. My favorite swim shorts are the boy short style from Free Country. I originally found them at Sam’s and you could get the tankini and short set for around $20-25, so it was an excellent price. I don’t have a Sam’s anymore so I don’t know if they still carry them, but I just looked on the Free Country site and they’re around $50 just for the bottom. That seems expensive to me and I’m guessing no better than just buying LE. ok, I just looked online and it looks like Sam’s does still carry the sets (online only currently bc of winter. Here’s one like I’m talkin
  23. I’m so sorry for your loss. Prayer lifted up for you today.
  24. Another thought I had—there also must be some kind of difference between say chicken pox, where you get it or the vaccine and then are good for life, so to speak vs things like flu and stomach viruses, correct? They’re both viral, but the mutating ones change and you lose your immunity right? I probably need to read more about this. chicken pox is especially weird, because it can hang out dormant for decades and then BAM!!! knock you off your feet with shingles. So weird.
