  1. I'm thinking of Monica on her honeymoon from Friends... This stuff is cheap and works pretty well: https://www.amazon.com/Garnier-Fructis-Anti-Humidity-Smoothing-Packaging/dp/B000GCRABY/
  2. My kids and DH love these: https://www.averiecooks.com/2013/10/flourless-peanut-butter-chocolate-chip-mini-blender-muffins.html They're best fresh out of the oven. I can't make them now because my youngest is allergic to banana and doesn't understand why she can't have the chocolate chip muffin. ;)
  3. Try making bacon in it for a really simple seasoning method. If you want to cook eggs, get the pan screaming hot before adding the eggs. That's the secret to any non-Teflon pan with eggs.
  4. I got this on the recommendation of a makeup savvy friend and LOVE it so far. It's really easy to put on. Under a minute. The QVC set includes the brush and is a really good deal. I think the price is good for the month of June. http://www.qvc.com/IT-Cosmetics-Confidence-in-a-Compact-SPF-50-Foundation-w-Luxe-Brush.product.A287157.html Ulta and Sephora carry it as well. I use eyeliner when I put on makeup. I really like the Urban Decay liner: http://www.urbandecay.com/24-7-glide-on-eye-pencil/122.html It lasts forever. The UD sharpener is good too, but I wouldn't buy it unless there's a special where it comes with the pencil. There's a L'oreal one that is much less expensive. I don't use bronzer. I pretty much do whatever I can in the car in the driveway. I'm fancy like that.
  5. Try a cleaner that is supposed to get rust out. We have a cultured marble sink/counter combo that is stained, and it helped a little. Ours needs to be replaced, but then we'd want to replace the vanity it's in, and the cracked tile on the floor, and... it becomes a domino effect. It does look grimy, but it's the best I can get it. Any way, if it's that stuff, it seems that eventually the finish just gives up. ;)
  6. The chain mail scrubber is the bomb. I sometimes use soap. Sometimes just hot water, I set it dry it on a flame while I'm finishing the rest of the dishes. We don't wash grills between uses, right?
  7. The "credit" lingo is for SSDI. You need 40 work credits, 20 earned in the last 10 years generally, but there are exceptions. https://www.ssa.gov/planners/disability/dqualify2.html
  8. I hope everything checks out okay :grouphug:
  9. It's horrifying. Her poor parents. :(
  10. I wouldn't unless the job would be fulfilling to me. I worked part time two kids ago, and I made about 5% what DH did. That was depressing enough, but adding in the stress of having to juggle work, kids, household crap, etc. made it a definite negative for me. The work itself was a drag too, so there was nothing positive. If I had loved the work, then maybe...
  11. Not for a card. If they sent a gift, a thank you would be appropriate. If you have to send a note for a card, they'd have to send a note for your note and... ;)
  12. Just add more powdered sugar. It's humid here and that makes frosting sometimes looser than usual. I always add butter to mine.
  13. Even if the wedding hosts didn't think about coffee, it's weird that the caterers missed it. It's always offered with dessert at nice restaurants at the end of the meal.
  14. Jeopardy typically attaches when the jury is sworn or when the first witness is sworn in a bench trial. It applies to any criminal action. A deadlocked jury defeats jeopardy and the case can be retried by the prosecution. Jeopardy only attaches to the incident being prosecuted. An acquitted murderer could be tried again for a different murder.
  15. Change the locks. **shudder**
  16. Costco is always on the list of great companies to work for, and they seem to keep employees a long time. I know one guy has been at Costco since my 13 year old was a baby. It's a bit difficult to get people on the phone there. I would do as much in person as possible. I know I've read news articles about their pay (liveable wages!) and banefits, so you might be able to find some of that via google and not have to ask. Good luck! It seems like it would be a great place to work.
  17. Realizing with sadness that people probably have two divergent reasons for being horrified by this man's behavior. :(
  18. TV show: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Three's_Company
  19. Please report that. So inappropriate and incompetent to boot!
  20. That's 5 levels in 2 months. Does the child have to be reading fluently aloud at that level or reading silently? That's a tough call--how to encourage without making the child freak out and clamp down. Lots of reading aloud. Take turns with sentences. Good luck!
  21. I wouldn't do anything other than lead test the finish to see if it must be sanded and stripped for the kids' safety. If it will be chewed on, you will be wasting $1000. Even if it wouldn't be, there's lots **I** would prioritize in my house over a bannister for the money.
  22. Send her home each time. I would send her home for the day and tell her she can try following the rules again tomorrow. If you say "until you can follow them," she will keep saying I will follow them now! As far as food goes, if you don't want to get in the habit of giving her snacks (and you don't know whether her grandparents want her eating popsicles right before dinner or whatever), send her home when she is hungry. Tell her she can run home and get a snack and come back (if it's okay to come back and play later).
  23. I'm horrified by the road blocks to receiving mental health care and the hoops you're having to jump through. I hope your DH is able to get treatment ASAP. You're a rockstar. :grouphug:
  24. Trader Joe's sells Manuka honey now too. I am also not a doctor. Plastic surgeons are the type of doctor that does wound care typically because they are experts in skin. I am not sure what all they do because stitches make me super squicky, so I try to block that out entirely when I have to deal with something client-related on wound care. I almost threw up during a deposition over this. Super awesome, huh?
