  1. The odor isn't always present with c-diff, so I wouldn't rule it out by that alone. Is he running a fever? Any blood?
  2. The risk of orthopedic injury makes me very nervous. My kids have gone to a couple, but I worried a bunch. FWIW, my daughter who has sensory issues (not sure if that's part of your DD's spectrum concerns) **hates** trampoline places. They are very noisy with weird lighting. I hate them too for that reason. It feels like a sensory assault. I've sent DH when they've gone to parties.
  3. It could be a normal side effect of the Augmentin. I hope so! :grouphug:
  4. After the additional details, I really hope counseling is effective. I would wonder if it's all extreme ADHD or if there is narcissism affecting things as well. As far as medication goes, he could take a booster med on his way home in order to be fully functioning for his family. Does he take the meds on weekends? Do you notice them being effective during typical workday hours then? I also wouldn't leave DD's birthday present up to him. That's not fair to risk her feelings. It totally sucks that everything is up to you. :grouphug:
  5. You need FB friends who will tell these people to go take a hike! I am sure some of us would be glad to help. Grrr. Also, practice saying "You do you, and I'll do me."
  6. I would suggest switching to a bribe that made sense, such as picking the bedtime story or getting an extra story. Fuzzy pocket peanut parent gets to re-brush the kid's teeth and deal with the child melting down about crappy surprises. Natural consequences! ;-)
  7. We love these. I don't think they're in the stores right now. They usually return in the fall, and we buy a few boxes to replace older ones and give as gifts. We keep two for tea only and four for coffee (because DH usually takes 2 to work). The Contigo water bottles are excellent too, but Costco didn't carry them this year. Target has a big end cap. They're 20 oz instead of 18 oz though, which is a bit too large IMO. I like the old ones that came in 2 packs at Costco. Eventually they lose their vacuum seal (dropping if you're klutzy like me) or dishwasher.
  8. Watch with an alarm that he is to never remove? Laminated checklist that includes medicine and hygiene?
  9. Canned pumpkin and human probiotics And find a new vet. That's a leap from diarrhea that's pretty clearly related to the medicine!
  10. Another vote for eye doctor during the week. Kid fingernails are pretty gross, so I would call one immediately. :)
  11. We have an alarm on the door that goes to the pool. It's not any particular brand (pool company buys in bulk). The important part is that it is ridiculously loud. Not quite burglar alarm loud, but loud enough to wake you from anywhere in the house. That will depend on your house. I would add a chain lock up top and a quieter alarm on his bedroom door if he's escaping while he's supposed to be in bed.
  12. You would leave food on the dishes? I'm with your DH on this one! Dishes are done when there's no work left for someone else to come along and do after you. It's like any other job. I wouldn't hand my (theoretical) boss an outline and say, here you go, the brief is done. I'd be fired. Of course my theory is that when people do stuff half assed around here is that they're passive aggressively trying to get "fired" from helping. That at some point the amount of energy I have to expend to get them to do the job is more than if I'd do it myself.
  13. I give the Sandra Boynton board books for baby gifts. There are a bunch translated into Spanish on amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Libros-en-español-Sandra-Boynton-Books/
  14. Go ahead and do one. You could probably use an inexpensive kit at this point unless you have complicated assets. Having a will makes it easier for survivors. She may not be ready to take that on at 18 either. I don't do T&E at all, but there should be a way to have her roll over as executor once she reaches some magic age (21? 25? Depends on the kid...). It's pretty funny that my dad still hasn't changed the executor of his will to me, and I'm in my early 40s and an attorney. My grandfather keeps reminding him.
  15. I'd tell the parents to keep tiny tot home unless an **adult** comes to supervise him. Send the unkind child home and tell her she can try again tomorrow.
  16. How old are your kids? Can they start packing themselves? Big whiteboard in your kitchen area where you can jot down the details for the kids (who should be taking on the responsibilities) and DH can supervise them? It is exhausting. I don't work and am just done being the adult in charge of everything. I keep explaining and explaining that I fantasize about being divorced just so 50% of the time, it's not my problem. Or running away. Far, far away.
  17. If I select the free super saver shipping to get whatever bonus they're offering Prime members, they hold the order for 5 days then ship it and it comes overnight because we live so close to a distribution center. It's very bizarre.
  18. Would he read this? https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.theguardian.com/world/2017/may/26/gender-wars-household-chores-comic Create an actual list of all the decision making and "chores" involved from sun up to sun down?
  19. Test the Honda CRV and HRV and the Toyota RAV4 and the Subaru Outback. My stepmother got a new CRV, and it is fun and easy to drive. I have had an Odyssey forever. It does have some blind spots but has cameras and other safety features. The CRV is much smaller and more maneuverable. The small BMW SUV is tons of fun to drive as well. If only we had fewer children... ;)
  20. How awful! I agree with leaving reviews and written feedback. That was such a sweet idea you had. Hope you feel better soon.
  21. We have reusable straws that go in the dishwasher. I have a pack of bendy straws stuck in the back of the cabinet for sickness. The pack is older than 5 years though. I think I bought it when we kept getting strep and flu. I don't get a straw when we eat out unless we are taking the drink to go or it's a boba tea.
  22. That is soooo NOT a vacation! Call it something else. Would you be able to tack on some fun activities? Or a few days solo somewhere after you get home to recoup?
