  1. I worked in Detroit Schools. I can give you LISTS of names that would make you go  and in fact I once had a student named MALARIA...not kidding.
  2. Doesn't seem like too touchy of a conversation to me...ask her if she would rather wear some kind of suit that covers it up, shave it or get it waxed? I have shaved my biking line for decades until recently when I started getting it waxed (so much easier, lasts longer, and it really doesn't hurt THAT bad).
  3. If you love satire and you are familiar with the whole mega-church movement you will laugh hysterically at this...or maybe it is just me: http://vimeo.com/11501569 :lol::lol:
  4. You did the EXACT same thing I would have done AND have done in the past. Good job!
  5. To the original question...do I correct other people's kids? Sure, all the time! My family, friends and I have more of a "it takes a village" mentality. If I am the only adult you bet I will correct another child...even one I don't know (too many years working in schools?). If I am at a group function with family and friends we are all working to keep all the kids safe and on the staright and narrow. :D
  6. honestly...my friend and I got ours done about 5 years ago and we waited one week to change the stud...no problem!
  7. well I am not sure what number this is but I just started Wolf Hall.
  8. I spray some in my hand and rub it on their faces. It is watered down and works like a charm!!!
  9. I agree...Birmingham and Royal Oak are your best bets. I lived in Birmingham a while back and I loved it!
  10. This may sound strange but it really works! Listerine. The regular, yellowish-colored kind. Put it in a spray bottle mixed with some water and spray it on. The mosquitos are ATROCIOUS here and this is the only thing that has worked for us.
  11. It's my home state as well and all I can say is, who cares what some reporter at the Detroit News thinks? That's all it is, a reporter's opinion and you know what they say about opinions...... :D
  12. OMG...that is an awesome hairstyle!!! Go for it!! Throw on some red lip stick and go give your hubby that sultry "come hither" look!!! I can't wait to see how it looks.
  13. "What this world needs is for us to care more about the insides than the outsides. Have we become so blind that we can't see God's gotta change her heart before he changes her shirt?" ~Casting Crowns
  14. I would start a tuition-free classical christian school in the city of Detroit
  15. Me either! :D Pride and Prejudice was so "polite" and sterile...such a snooze... but Wuthering Heights was full of PASSION and gut-wrenching love between star-crossed lovers....who followed each other into death....ahhhh....be still my heart.............
  16. LOVE IT.... seriously. I read "Pride and Prejudice" and I was so bored I couldn't stand it. But "Wuthering Heights" was filled with angst and pain and love that consumes you.....love that book......
  17. bought the kindle a year ago...I LOVE IT...I use it constantly...so much that we had to buy another one for my dh!!!
  18. OMG....I thought I was the only person on earth that did not like Titanic! I did not cry and when everyone around me was I was like "You did know the ship was gonna sink, right?" And seriously, who GETS OFF of a life boat and gets BACK ON a sinking ship to be with some guy she met like 12 hours ago? Avatar was the most predictable, remade version of about 12 other movies I know that I have ever seen. BORING. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz............
  19. Personal space does differ according to culture and personal preference. I need a pretty large personal space. I don't like people hugging me (except dh and my kids). I n fact, I did not even have a receiving line at my wedding because I could not handle the idea of 200 people hugging me! :tongue_smilie:
