My daughter would like to study Italian in high school. Can anyone recommend a workbook type resource for Italian to supplement Rosetta Stone Italian? Rosetta Stone does not have a workbook to go along with their Italian course, as there is for French. Even though we already own Rosetta Stone Italian, I am willing to consider another Italian curriculum. Thanks in advance for your replies. Jatoga

We read all books and would not suggest skipping any... the writing assignments will require you to comment on/analyze the books... Excellent curriculum.

Anyone used this and care to comment on it? We are looking at this for next year and would like to hear your experience...especially with the Honors option. Thanks in advance, Joan

Has anyone used Stobaugh's World history, (pub 2012) for high school and would like to comment on it? We are considering it for next year, and I have been reading the comments posted in Amazon (only 3 posted..) and see where one reviewer claims that the book contains inconsistencies.. Would love to hear your comments. Thanks in advance. Joan

My 5th grader needs phonics, vocabulary and comprehension help. Please give me some suggestions on what to use to help her in these areas. Is there one curriculum that you would use to address all three issues? Thanks jatoga

We have a rule in our home that we do not use swear words...even the 'fake' swear words, like 'darn' etc. Yesterday, I was driving my 10 year old to an event and we picked up one of her friends who was also going to the event. This little girl was 11. They were playing with her electronic game and every other word that came out of her mouth, was a swear word. I cringed, trying to decide whether to say something or not. I also wanted to see if my daughter would say something. In the end, I chose not to say anything, but after I dropped her off, I thought maybe I had done the wrong thing. What would you have done? Do you ever correct other children when their parents are not around? BTW... I talked with my daughter afterwards ... she said she wanted to tell her friend to stop, but was waiting to see if I would....

We use K-9 Web Protection. It has served our purposes and it is very flexible. It's also free. Here is the link... http://www1.k9webprotection.com/ Joan -

Subject order - same each day or not? (K & 3rd)
jatoga replied to knit247's topic in K-8 Curriculum Board
With my 8th grader, he has a weekly assignment sheet and he does it in whatever order he wishes. As long as it all done! With my 4th grader, we do math and grammar everyday...not necessarily at the same time each day. The other subjects get put in as we go. Sometimes we get them all in, sometimes we don't. Joan
