How to avoid contracting the stomach flu?
Sputterduck replied to Amy in NH's topic in General Education Discussion Board
Oi. Garlic? On the juice fast I'm on I've been having lots of juiced garlic. I am usually very ill by this time of the year and so far I'm perfectly fine. I also smell offensive. -
I have a question if you conceal carry

You have to look at America's history to understand it. America had to fight to get freedom from a group of people they didn't want ruling over them. Then there was a huge horizon of savage land to defend oneself from as America grew westward. And, for a long time many, many families had to hunt their own food. There are still quite a few families like that. Just watch "Swamp People". LOL The right, and even pride, in having one's own gun is considered very important to many people there. There are those who think it's a bad think, but not everyone will agree on everything no matter where you are. -
Concealed carry poll

You can also drive into Mexico. The vast majority are not stopped. It's not like airport security. People get in trouble for it all the time. From the U.S. consulate: " Don’t bring firearms or ammunition across the border into Mexico. Don’t carry a knife, even a small pocketknife, on your person in Mexico. You may become one of dozens of U.S. Citizens who are arrested each month for unintentionally violating Mexico’s strict weapons laws. If you are caught with firearms or ammunition in Mexico... You will go to jail and your vehicle will be seized; You will be separated from your family, friends, and your job, and likely suffer substantial financial hardship; You will pay court costs and other fees ranging into the tens of thousands of dollars defending yourself; You may get up to a 30-year sentence in a Mexican prison if found guilty. If you carry a knife on your person in Mexico, even a pocketknife . . . You may be arrested and charged with possession of a deadly weapon; You may spend weeks in jail waiting for trial, and tens of thousands of dollars in attorney’s fees, court costs, and fines; If convicted, you may be sentenced to up to five years in a Mexican prison. Claiming not to know about the law will not get you leniency from a police officer or the judicial system. Leave your firearms, ammunition, and knives at home. Don’t bring them into Mexico." Yeah, 5 years potentially for a small pocket knife. It's very normal to carry one in America and people just don't realize it's not okay here. -
I am beyond grateful for your prayers!

Concealed carry poll

I would but they don't do concealed carry with mere mortals in Mexico. In fact, people have been sent to jail for years for even a small pocket knife on their person. -
Lactose intolerance in very small children, though, is extremely uncommon. Breastmilk is has more lactose than cow's milk. So if a child is fine on breastmilk and not formula, it's not the lactose. It's kind of a pet peeve of mine, so I usually insert that somewhere in threads like this. lol Usually, it's the casein protein in cow's milk that causes very small babies problems.

What about feeding the homeless? We feed a camp on migrants from Oaxaca here and my son is great at handing out forks and tortillas. -
Advise on girl facial hair

PCOS definitely does. My family is very hairless on both sides. I'm not. :glare: My mom (also with PCOS) had problems but then her thyroid went hypo and it fixed all her hair issues. -
Oaxaca, Mexico--Safety?
Sputterduck replied to Harriet Vane's topic in General Education Discussion Board
It's like anywhere else. It's a bad idea to wander into the wrong neighborhood and perfectly safe in other places. I'd highly recommend going. Oaxaca is incredibly beautiful and absolutely full of amazing culture. :) -
That's not a sensory thing. That how we all should be. I would be thrilled. Go with it. He is right on track.

That is so true. I know a couple people who were stuck eating burnt macaroni and cheese (how do you burn mac and cheese??), dried out leathery meat, or meals that were never seasoned ever. *gag* I would be picky in a house like that. And, people, I would eat balut.

Food isn't a issue in my family. We talk about nutrition and such, but on a daily basis it isn't ever really even mentioned. Meals are made 3 times a day and if you are hungry sit down and eat some. If you don't want it, I shrug and we move on. It's probably the most undramatic thing we do. But I do not make more than one meal. I do put thought in behind the scenes into making sure my son is able to eat veggies and other healthy, less popular, food. I do make sure, without his knowledge, so as not to make food a big issue in his head, that he is perfectly happy eating a meal of lots of veggies and lean protein. My son doesn't expect me to make him something special, and he eats whatever is put in front of him, because food is not an issue in this house. I should add that he is never, ever, ever made to eat anything. It is my job to put healthy food that will grow his body in the best way possible in front of him. It is his job, not mine, to put it in his mouth.

I've never offered to make something different for my child. Because of that he never expects it. I'd imagine though that if you have been your son's whole life, it will be quite a transition. Kids don't often respond well to changes in the rules of the game.

To be very honest, I would have called the police. And I would have told them to take him and I would press charges. I will not shelter my child from criminal behavior, especially if it's violent. I would want the daylights scared out him with a lesson that he will never forget. I would also intervene by taking him to a psychiatrist. But there are very hard limits to certain behavior that I will not even accept from my own child. Sometimes, real world consequences do scare kids going down a bad road and give them a real idea of why they must cease immediately.

On a level of 1-10 how creepy is

I agree. It could definitely be bad, and I would not let my kid play with him, but there are some guys who are just very nice and genuinely like kids. -
I bet she trying to give you a compliment. And she is even trying to be awesome by not questioning socialization. It really sounds to be like she is trying to be supportive, even if it's coming across a bit awkwardly. She did say that you are capable of doing something that she thinks no one else in the world can do. That's pretty major. LOL

Take them back to court for damages. My friend who lives off his rentals does that from time to time and has never lost in court. -
I does look good. I may travel to Canada someday just to try it. LOL

I don't know. But if you put tape on the bottom of a cat's paw, you just may die of laughter. I don't know what it is. They are weird beasts.
