  1. Loved it. "Serum, what is this?" So true!
  2. -wifi for sure -fully stocked kitchen -Since it is 4 bedroom, technically you would think it can accommodate 8 people. This sounds like 2 families could share it which would be great. I like to see singles in some bedrooms, such as 2 singles. This way you wouldn't have to be a 'couple' sharing a bed. Also, alternative beds or bedding space for an extra or teen who wants his own space. Sometimes places are large enough for several people, only if they share bedrooms, which may not always work. -I always like when they offer that extra people can be included if you pay an extra fee. Or since it would be a vacation home, allowing an extra space if another family were to visit hauling their trailer. We go to Michigan to visit family, and since we are from out of state, it is nice to be able to accommodate extra family members to visit (not partying). Hmmm, please share a link if this ever gets off the ground! -Michigan can get hot, is there air conditioning?
  3. Just wondering, when you add chia seeds to your food, do you hydrate it first? I have seen recipes for fruit smoothies that say to add chia seeds, but I always soak mine overnight in orange juice. I would think that by adding seeds without soaking would draw water from the colon and make digestion more difficult. I have no problems when using seeds soaked. Hmmm...
  4. Do you have epsom salts? Have a good soak before bed, magnesium gives relief as well (and you wouldn't have to drink nasty apple cider tea!😉) It may help you to sleep better anyway until you can call the doctor in the morning. Or if you have any other magnesium product in the house... I remembered that also...
  5. My 2cents...I am disappointed in prune juice lately, although it is said to be a good idea. The brand I get is so watered down compared to 20-30 years ago when I do remember it having some substance to it. I have heard of using castor oil, that would be a good option. Or pick up a box of 'Smooth Move' tea and fix yourself a cup with 2-3 teabags in it. I can say this stuff works! But like other things, it seems like they are putting less tea leaves in each bag now as compared to 5 years ago when 1 bag would do it for me within a few hours. If you drink it at night, you may not get movement until morning. Just something I have noticed with this tea recently. I was surprised as to how this tea would actually work! Or have you tried a cup of hot water with some apple cider vinegar in it? I thought I remembered this helping for this, not sure. Keeping my fingers crossed for ya!
  6. Praying for all of you during this terrible time. Keep mowing that lawn or start a garden to dig in just so you can have time for yourself to cry. I totally get that and you need time for yourself. There is so much to process here. One doesn't even need to know a person very closely to grieve for them. We all feel your pain and grieve for you because we can imagine what your or the BF's family is going through. Holding you in prayer.
  7. I'm so sorry for your loss. Sunny sounded like such a sweet little bird. Hug to you all.
  8. I am so sorry for your loss. It sounds like she went very peacefully doing what she enjoyed and you will always remember that. Hugs.
  9. My grandmother had a canary when she was young and just loved her. Now I can see why. I never knew they had such a sweet personality until now. In prayer...
  10. My uncle, who's wife is immunocompromised, fully vaxed and boostered has taken the same approach all along and has been extremely cautious. They attended their first family dinner recently, only to find out the next day a relative tested positive for covid. Yep, they came down with it as well. She fared pretty well, he had terrible congestion, but neither had to go to the hospital. You just never know!🤷‍♀️
  11. I'm just glad covid inspired churches to do services online. I was able to watch a few that I enjoy. Its cold and just yuck out, so it was nice to stay in and light a fire.
  12. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mh7SBHMqBkc It's the first time I saw this rendition, beautifully done.
  13. I guess I am usually lost in my own thoughts, an introvert. I have been told to smile more, so in private when I remember, I sometimes practice. But when you are out and about and you have lists in your brain of what you have to do that day, or where to go, it is hard to remember ...oh yeah, and smile. I flew out of town this past week...and I enjoyed the mask wearing again...so yeah, I understand your frustration.
  14. If you happen to be in Michigan and have read Leonardo's Horse by Jean Fritz, visit Meijer's Garden in Grand Rapids. My girls loved the book and then seeing the sculpture was exciting. https://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g187849-d312046-r685533069-Leonardo_da_Vinci_s_Horse-Milan_Lombardy.html
  15. I am so sorry for your loss, holding you and your family in prayer.
  16. I'm so sorry. I too have enjoyed following along and seeing her picture. She has quite the personality is sounds like. Praying and hugs to all.
  17. Using dishwasher detergent on grease on clothing has helped to get the grease out of garments here. Rub on the spot well and wash as usual, if your garment can be thrown in the washing machine. Hopefully that will take care of the smell. I wouldn't put it in the dryer until the grease is out all the way. Maybe you will have to launder it a few times? Just an idea. Hope something works for you.
  18. She sounds like a sweetie, hoping things get better for her.🙏
  19. I would make sure the weather is decent for spending that kind of $$. Chicago Field Museum is a must! We saw Tut's Exhibit the year we went.
  20. But...this will be something you 2 will laugh about in the future...hey Mom, remember when? Thanks for teaching me how to do that (not)!! Mine still remind me that their college friends tease them because they never got to watch ___________. (We mostly watched PBS or got movies from the library, so they feel so deprived!)
  21. No fingerprinting for volunteers, I meant for teachers. But around here, some schools do require a background check for volunteering. I work for 1 school that never asked for anything and it dawned on me how strange that seemed, especially if I had a child in that school. It seems in this day and age, that would be a given. Another very small private school I am familiar with had taken 2 students this year. Let's just say either academically or behaviorally, the school realized they needed to tighten their admissions policies.
  22. Or the PTA that allows a second spirit week...in the spring. (Local public school does this, along with many of the above suggested 'fun days'). I am glad to know I am not the only one who dreads all of this. Not enough bandwidth AND it takes so much out of teaching time. In addition to all of the great suggestions above, I would ask about personnel and volunteer screening. Do they require background checks/fingerprinting before working at the school? Also, are there policies for new students entering the private school? Such as, does the school allow students who have been suspended or kicked out of their former school (s)? What are the behavior policies? I am realizing that private schools often attract some who don't fit the 'mold' in public schools, often academically or socially. Although this is not often a problem, but sometimes there may not be enough personnel to help these kids in the classroom. Or check to see if the school has trained individuals to help.
