  1. Doesn't work for me, how strange! I just get their logo and an add to cart button! Ah, tried it in a different browser and it works, doesn't work in chrome! Thanks Stephanie
  2. Also having doubts about using WWS with my 10 yr old 5th grader in September. Should I start at the beginning of WWR and do it quickly by which time the other levels will be out (Spring). Or should I just wait until Spring and start with the higher levels? I have repeatedly looked at MP but it seemed overkill and very dull, is this just a simplified watered down version? Stephanie
  3. I can't see the samples? When I click on "samples" it takes me to the "add to cart" page? Stephanie
  4. I have all the SOTW as audio books. They are on my son's ipod and he listens to it in the car or when he is playing with his lego. Doing Sonlight shouldn't stop you from enjoying the books. Stephanie
  5. Thanks for your reply, anyone else have anything I should consider? Stephanie
  6. Hassle!! As someone who has 2 kids in uniform, it is surprising how much gets lost, someone else takes something home by mistake and you never see it again etc. You could just have caps with logos on or a sweatshirt but more than that, I'd hate it. Plus if you just meet occasionally, the expense is too high. I do like a uniform for my 2 in school, that works well, but for the one who is at home, no way! Oh and my straw boater just sat on my head and fell off!! Stephanie
  7. Which one for ds starting SM6 but who needs a lot of review. I can't decide between kitchen table maths 3 and family maths the middle school years. Does anyone have both, or had success with either? Stephanie
  8. Thanks! I've been wanting that app for ages! Stephanie
  9. I don't see OM as less rigorous, I see it as concentrating more on skill areas than rote learning and learning in context rather than from a workbook. It requires a complete change in approach and outlook which can be no bad thing! I look forward to hearing how you get on as we are in exactly the same position! I have OM6 on my shelf and have been encouraged by this post to try and take the plunge! Either OM or beautiful feet, or perhaps a combination! Stephanie
  10. At this time of life I personally would resort to audio books rather than myself reading aloud. I have all the SOTW on audio plus I get lots from the library or download classics from itunes fairly cheaply. I use them when ds is doing art, eating etc and it allows me to do things. He also listens to them in the car on his ipod nano. Stephanie
  11. That's what concerns me, am I better off picking them from the past issues list as that way at least I will get the ones I know I will use! Stephanie
  12. Does anyone have a list of the arrow books for 2012-2013? I'm not sure whether to get all of them or select back issues since the price difference isn't very much. However the site only has the 2013-2014 list up there now. Thanks Stephanie
  13. At our hospital only siblings are allowed. Perhaps you could check? Stephanie

  15. Whilst I get my older two off to school in the morning, ds9 sits at the pc and watches 2 brain pop videos (uk and US) whilst he eats, he then goes though the open tabs on the pc which are: spelling city, xtra math math rider duolingo quizlet (in an ideal world) by the time he has finished, the 2 boys are off at school and ds has finished his drill for the day. We then move in to school proper. I couldn't have him watch a movie in the am, brainpop is all I will allow Stephanie
  16. If I were your dil I would love the pancake idea as that is very personal to you and shows that you have welcomed her into your family. Money doesn't come into it. Stephanie
  17. We use the cd but not the assessment pack. Stephanie
  18. I buy berries frozen and mix in a food processor (still frozen) with fat free yoghurt, the frozen berries freeze the yoghurt slightly and it is a little like ice cream. You would have to do it just before serving though, takes 30 seconds and no added sugar needed. Or banana "ice cream" which is frozen banana in a food processor, you need to mix for a while but all of a sudden it changes consistency and appears to become ice cream. I've fooled all of my children with this, they all thought they were eating ice cream, even the ones who won't eat bananas! Stephanie
  19. The first thing I would do is to get her to learn her math facts, she could use something as simple as xtra math (free) or mathrider to get those skills. Then she will be able to work a lot faster at her other areas of weakness. Stephanie
  20. I'm also interested, but agree, the samples just aren't enough! Perhaps if enough of us email them they'll put some more up Stephanie
  21. I allow 3 weeks per chapter. I do a comprehension and some of the grammar exercises a week and then the writing exercises in the week without the comprehension. Sometimes we do the grammar orally, sometimes ds writes it out. Stephanie
  22. I understood that they would be released in ibook format soon. I'm waiting for that so I don't have shipping Stephanie
  23. There will be cabs at the airport. Stephanie
  24. Are there any samples? I wanted to see something before I bought them Stephanie
