Unfortunately I'm in the UK so buying used is difficult:crying: Shipping is also expensive (even from the UK rep) so I need to make sure that I buy everything I need in one go. Stephanie

Do I need the fraction overlays? They are very expensive! DS does understand the concept of equivalent fractions having gone through SM 4A and B, so I wondered whether I could forego the expense of the overlays? Are they used to work things out in the student manual? Stephanie

I agree about buying one concept at a time. I really like the lit units and we have just completed the BFG in level 8-10. However I don't want to be doing one all the time, I need a little break in between. I think that the same applies to the non lit aspects. I'm just going to do them bit by bit. Stephanie

I have one of those too. It's really hard just to sit back and watch them forget/be late etc. I assume that by me constantly reminding him he'll learn. But I'm not so sure! Stephanie

Re lively Latin, are the videos useful? I like the idea of the DVDs in Latin for children but LL would probably move at a better pace for us. Stephanie

My pc crashed and I lost everything on the hard drive. Thankfully most of it was backed up but I lost mathrider which ds8 uses every day. It has been the most wonderful program for us and ds actually enjoys learning his math facts. I emailed mathrider to see if I could download it again and within 30 mins it was back on my pc! Fantastic customer service! I can't rate them highly enough.:D

bumping for you! Wouldn't you go the fast track route with LOE so it would just take you a few weeks? I'm thinking of doing it with a 4th grader intensively for a few weeks only Stephanie

ds8 "bought" a book on the kindle yesterday, totally by accident, he pressed the wrong button. I'd just check that your ds didn't do the same, it is quite easy to press the buy button thinking that you'll be able to change your mind later Stephanie

Re the game book, do you need all sets of the cards if there are 2 of you playing or can you drop one of them? Stephanie

What ages are the games for do you think. My ds9 has a basic grasp of some of the rules and sounds as we have done PR1 and PR2 but he does keep forgetting! I'm wondering whether this could be the final push I need to do to get him to finally master all he needs to. I'm loath to spend so much but if I could get through it in a few weeks and he actually know if, then it would be worth it. I do not want to spend yrs teaching this! Stephanie

You have to be over 13yrs and I think they should sign in under your name. My 15 yr old wants to do some and so does my 12 yr old-he has to wait until June when he is 13yrs. I didn't realise that other students would review your answers though, that puts me off but I still think we'll try it Stephanie
