  1. I'm 30 and I'm pregnant with #3. I've had a TERRIBLE time with morning sickness this time around. After this, I'm thinking I may be done. We won't do anything permanent yet though....just in case the baby fever strikes in a few years. :D
  2. I'm a photographer and like someone else mentioned, it's a tool. It's not something that should be used all the time and it will not look good on all types of photos. If someone does it for every picture then I'd wonder if they really knew very much about photography. But also, photography and photos are an art form....and art is subjective. Just like with a painting, some will like it and some won't. People have different styles and preferences when it comes to art.
  3. My big reason for staying on-site is the fact that you get free parking and get to use the Extra Magic Hours. We love the Pop Century value resort...that's usually where we stay. We go often so we cannot be paying for a deluxe each time we go. We have stayed at Windsor Hills before too. It is SUPER nice. And honestly, it's probably closer to the Magic Kingdom than some of the actual Disney resorts. It's really nice to be able to spread out, put the kids to sleep and not have to worry about keeping quiet, and having your own kitchen (even if you don't plan to cook...I like the fridge to store snacks and breakfast). So while I do love staying on property, I do love Windsor Hills as well.
  4. It's pretty common. I called around until I found a dentist for my kids that DO allow parents back. I'm not sending my shy kids back with strangers. For one, they would be terrified. For two, I just don't send my kids with strangers.
  5. I don't really like the village LOL. I have to approve the members of my small, intimate village that I allow to correct or discipline my children. Close, trusted family members, Sunday school teachers, etc. Random people whom I have no idea of their moral values....no, I don't want to give them a part of helping to raise my children.
  6. With regards to finances or very large purchases, I usually let him handle that. That's his forte. With a career or job change (which we've never had to deal with), we would both weigh the pros/cons and talk it out. But for the most part, since he's the one working, I'd let him have the final decision. Regarding the kids, I usually get the final say. If it came down to moving, that's where the issue would lie. I've lived in this area my whole life...my whole family is here. He's lived here his whole life, for the most part, too. But some of his family has moved away. I'd be willing to have DH take a lower paying job to stay around here...even if that meant moving to a small house or apartment. I'm not sure that he'd agree. Hopefully that decision will never come to us. As for babies, he pretty much leaves that up to me....he figures that I have to carry them for 9 months and then be with them majority of the time. So he pretty much lets me make that decision.
  7. To me, if you are sure that they are nice things that would actually sell, it would definitely be worth it for several hundred dollars. When I clean out the kids room, if I'm not sure whether it will definitely sell, I take it to Goodwill. If I know I can get decent money from it, I will put it on craigslist.
  8. Probably under the stove. :glare: That's where we found our long lost library book that we'd already paid for. We only found it because we had the linoleum in our kitchen replaced with wood laminate and they had to move the stove to do it.
  9. I put it in the fridge right after we are finished with it. If I leave it to cool, I'll forget about it.
  10. When my 4 year old DD was 3, she went through a hitting stage. I finally warned her that if she did it again, she would wear mittens on her hands for a while. She did it again and I put mittens on her hands for about half an hour. She did NOT like this. It helped curb her hitting habit. I honestly think I'm going to have to use this tactic again....but for my 7 year old this time. :glare:
  11. Okay, stupid question here....how do you see a deleted thread if it's deleted? I don't think I've ever seen one.
  12. Yep, Evan Moor has all sorts of neat "hands on" type of activities. My 7 year old is like this as well. She loves the Evan Moor stuff.
  13. My favorite thing to grow is black seeded simpson lettuce. We eat a lot of salads, my kids love how the leaves are not "too crunchy", and it's really easy (and quick) to grow.
  14. LOVE Brad Paisley! He's my favorite country singer.
  15. Yes, it does seem so strange. Especially their first public kiss on the balcony. To me, it seemed so forced....quick and awkward. I mean, I don't want them hanging all over each other or making out or anything. But he just seemed to kind of give her a quick side kiss. He didn't even face her or anything.
  16. DD7's vision therapist worked on this with her a few months ago during therapy. Yes, she said that kids should be able to do it.
  17. I did the bolding.....that's exactly the reason I will not carry around one of those fold up potty seats. It grosses me out that I'd have to stick it back in the bag when it's been sitting ON the public toilet.
  18. That would be REALLY strange here. I've never been to a birthday party where we've had to pay our own way.
  19. Personally, I'd never be that far away from home that close to my due date, whether it be for the amusement park or the wedding. As for the park, there is NO way that I could walk around that much when I'm that far along. I always feel like the baby's head is RIGHT there and about to fall out. I'm very uncomfortable around that time.
  20. I try to have her go in the van between errands. We have one of these that just slides underneath the seat in our van: POTTY But if we get in a bind and she needs to go in a public bathroom, I wipe the seat off, set her on the side of the seat, and hold onto her. I use a seat cover if the bathroom has them. And I do use post it notes to cover the auto flush.
  21. I have cousins, aunts, and uncles in Ringgold. They texted me last night to let me know they were okay. Thank the Lord!
