I love Oliver! DD2 was going to be Oliver had she been a boy. Where did you see that it means "loving nature"? Every site/ book I look at says it means "Elf Army" or "Olive Tree".

We use D'Nealian. DS seems to love it. I like that is has them only do all the letters first before writing actual words. I am not sure if Zaner-Bloser does the same thing or not. We have never used it.

I never took it:confused: We just had to have 3yrs/3 credits of history. I took History Before Civil War, Modern History and AP History and I know for a fact I never took in Elementary school or Middle School. It was an elective in middle and high school though but I never wanted to take it.

Hmmm....really? I graduated in 2006 and never took Oklahoma history. I wonder if it is a new requirement?

ETA: Thanks figured it out! I am really confused right now:confused: I didn't think there were any required courses in Oklahoma. I found this and she says that Oklahoma history is required. "Oklahoma History Online is an online, subscription-based curriculum for teaching Oklahoma History, a required course for all students in Oklahoma." http://www.oklahomahomeschool.com/okhist.html Is it really required or is she just trying to sell her product?

Yes! I received good grades but I still feel like I just learned the basics and that is it. I don't remember anything that I learned in high school and I just graduated in 2006.

I think a lot of it is the economy still. DH looked for 18 months before he went back to school. I have been looking for the past 3 months with nothing yet. I hope they find something soon though. :)

I would look into getting the replacement foam from Evenflo or getting a new one ASAP. The foam absorbs a lot of the impact. A FF seat is outgrown when any ONE of these are met: 1) the tops of the ears go over the top of the seat shell 2) shoulders go over top harness slots 3) weight limit is reached

DS is 4 and on about a 3rd grade reading level. I don't do anything phonics wise with him but a plaid phonics workbook to solidify a little more phonics. Honestly though, he would do fine without it but he loves workbooks. We do daily read alouds for about 10 minutes to work on fluency and so I can see if he has any trouble with pronunciation.

We tried a box curriculum to begin with and DS was so bored with it. This year I am just piecing everything together. Thanks to all the suggestions on this board I am now brave enough to do it!

We never did calender time. We went over the days of the week and the months a few times and that was it.

Yay! I checked WMR this morning after being told March 3rd on the phone yesterday. It gave me a DD of Feb. 21st. I hope it is right.

I just called IRS and they told me March 3rd for my deposit. My taxes were accepted the 5th according to the lady I spoke to. Turbo tax said they were accepted the 3rd. I don't know who is right. I just want my refund.

Yes, it says I entered the wrong info when I didn't. I double checked everything on the taxes and everything was correct.
