  1. We go to a white elephant birthday party every year. The gifts are truly horrible crap that you really don't want. Just junk that's sitting around the house. The first year I gave Valentine candy. The second year we brought a goofy hat and t-shirt. Someone actually brought a box of chicks and a bag of feed. :glare: I've wised up and am not buying anything nice this year. Last year someone brought a half-eaten bag of chocolate. I'm planning on doing something from http://www.thedatingdivas.com/holidays/christmas/50-hilarious-and-creative-white-elephant-gift-ideas/ for this year. I really dislike white elephant exchanges but this a good friend of DH.
  2. Scissors, glue, tape, pens, stapler, etc. My two younger girls love doing craft things and take my stuff all the time even though they have their own. They never put anything back either so it gets used up and nobody knows. The thing that is currently missing that I know they took is my ring that DH got for our 10th anniversary. One of them took it before and finally returned it but it's gone missing again! I couldn't wear it while I was pregnant so it sat in my jewelry box forever. I can finally wear it and they've lost it. Guess he'll have to get me a new ring for our 25th.
  3. That is interesting. I may have to find that spray bottle of peroxide.
  4. We did that with our king and also now with our queen. My DH likes to wrap the covers around himself and then roll over taking the whole thing with him. I used to be cold all the time because I would end up with nothing on me. We each have our own blanket and then there is a queen size duvet on top.
  5. I'd call animal control if they're in your yard. They should remove them and then the owners will have to deal with them to get the dogs back.
  6. I don't mind handguns. Anyone with their face covered bothers me. The long guns make me nervous. We were flying internationally around the Gulf War time. It was weird that the police/military in the airports had rifles. We go out to lunch to a restaurant that has police (plain clothes not uniforms) with handguns on their hips and that doesn't bother me. I don't know enough about the requirements for open carry to make an informed choice on your poll.
  7. :grouphug: :grouphug: My youngest has bruises all the time. Yesterday I noticed one on his forehead. I have no clue when he got it. He climbs on everything and jumps off so I can guess how. :grouphug: :grouphug:
  8. A small group of us are going to be singing carols at the newly opened assisted living facility. I'm in charge of putting together 5-7 carols for us to sing. I came up with Silent Night and Jingle Bells. Suggestions please!
  9. Meatballs in the crock pot. You can go with a tomato sauce or my favorite which is grape jelly & chili sauce.
  10. I voted other because as of right now there's nothing on the top. I'm not sure if we're going to decorate it this year. My youngest has been turning the lights on & off non-stop. He's also putting his little people in the tree and then saying they're stuck. Then there's him getting under the tree and pushing it. We have an angel for the top though. I wanted to get this really cool star when we were getting the tree but the family vetoed my suggestion. I still may go to the store to get that star!
  11. My older two had dark blue almost black eyes when they were born. They both have brown eyes now. My next two had lighter blue eyes as babies and still have blue eyes although different shades of blue. We're still trying to figure out the youngest's eye color. I'm calling them hazel for now since they change a lot. The most annoying thing was my MIL looking at my oldest one day and saying, "I wonder where he got those gorgeous brown eyes?" Hello lady, they're the exact same color as mine! My husband has dark blue eyes. They're almost black. My two kids with blue eyes are very light like my mother's. The IL's have blue/green/hazel eyes.
  12. Nice. I've got a Passion Planner on the way for next year.
  13. I installed it a couple of weeks ago. It works fine for me.
  14. Don't get black!! Black vehicles are hard to keep clean and get super hot in the sun.
  15. We don't have those here. We have the diverging diamond interchanges which are confusing. There's also a huge push for roundabouts here which are usually too small.
  16. We bought a 12 passenger Chevy Express. Didn't test drive any others because this one came up at a great price. It's a 2013 model. We went from a 2008 Town & Country to this van. I love the extra room. I miss my automatic sliding doors, climate control, and now that it's cold the auto starter.
  17. :grouphug: :grouphug: Good luck!!
  18. His newest feat is to climb onto the island in the kitchen and jump off. :glare:
  19. Normally I'd say that she just needs to get over it but this is a close family member. He needs to show some compassion to her. I think he's being rude. Why is an adult acting like that? I'm sure there's more to the history there.
  20. This is what I did growing up. When I talk about my parents, I'm referring to my mom & step-dad. I had a neighbor who was the step-mom but was with the dad since the child was about 1. She called her mom-first name. Part of that was because the bio-mom wasn't happy she was calling the step-mother "mom". Would she be willing to add the first name to the dad part? Maybe explain that even though it's really nobody else's business it is confusing for people who don't know the situation.
