  1. There's soooooo much in Chicago! I would Google his interests and see what's available. Make sure to have a Chicago dog too. :) eta: If he's interested in any of the colleges you could check them out, or maybe pick one just to see what it's like.
  2. We're an Iron Man household. However, as huge Marvel fans, we really love them all for various reasons. I don't think he's dead.
  3. I was born in '63. I was taught to brush after meals. I saw the dentist every 6 months as long as I can remember (at least school age). However, I was probably middle school before being taught to floss. By then they also added brushing before bed. I've always struggled with my teeth, but it's a genetic thing. My dh, born in '61, brushed before school, rarely saw a dentist, never flossed. He has great teeth. Our boys, thankfully!, also have great teeth. They brush and floss and see the dentist regularly. We no longer use fluoride, but do get some in our water.
  4. :seeya: ETA: Just to have something to share.... love this video! http://vimeo.com/33878532
  5. I'd switch to Floradix. It's more readily absorbed and no bathroom issues.
  6. I use Taxact with a business. It takes under two hours. I keep everything written down throughout the year, so I just imput the numbers and hit submit.
  7. stream-tv.me has them all and in order.
  8. A properly installed and used car seat is not considered unsafe in a single cab truck. If FF, using a top tether is recommended just like any other FF seat. Obviously, never place a RF seat in front of an active airbag.
  9. Fried cabbage with smoked sausage (I slice and brown the link first, then add sliced cabbage, onions and carrots are optional, season to taste) Chicken and black beans (boneless chicken, rinsed black beans, corn (drained canned, fresh or frozen), salsa or Rotel; cook in Crock Pot, oven or stove top, pull chicken apart with two forks, serve over brown rice or in tortillas, toppings optional) Cowboy Stew (brown ground beef or turkey, drain, add 1-2 large can pork'n beans, a bit of sweetener (I like a healthy pinch of brown sugar), seasonings (I like garlic, black pepper and chili powder), simmer, serve with a crusty bread or biscuits)
  10. No. FYI to everyone- all of season 3 (and 1 & 2) can be seen at stream-tv.me
  11. I agree. I refuse to drink milk out of plastic. belch!
  12. We don't like to drink out of plastic and regular glass glasses break easily, often shattering into a thousand pieces. A wide mouth canning jar (I'm not picky about brand) gives the benefit of drinking from glass and are much harder to break. When they do break it's usually a few chunks vs the tiny shards from regular glass. We specifically bought the smaller juice glass size ones for the little kids I care for. They feel grown up and i don't worry about injury.
  13. 8 y/o 3rd grader is using R&S 2, maybe 15 minutes a day, AAR 2 and HOD's emerging reader set everyday, various amount of time, AAS 20 minutes 4 days/wk, and whatever writing, vocab, dictionary skills, etc is scheduled in HOD.
  14. This is pretty much what I did with mine. I kept a sippy of water close by in case a drink was truly needed. I'd rub his back or daddy would pat him, then we'd go back to sleep- ds2 was easier and quicker than ds1. The time between asking got longer and they night weaned withoout too much fuss. We practiced child led day weaning, so that was fairly easy too. That said, I never thought nursing should be a crying matter, so had they fussed I would have likely given in.
  15. Amazon and cbd should show the inside of many kids Bibles. My ds has an NIV because his curriculum and Wed program at church use NIV. ETA: He has this one and loves it. IDK if they make a girl version.
  16. For me personally, denomination doesn't matter as long as you are a 100% Bible believing and teaching church. I'm not nearly as concerned about non-salvation issues. I'll discuss them and give my opinions, but, I hope, I listen as well. To Night Elf, that's horrible!
  17. I give it as well as extra C, D3, etc at the first sign of not feeling well.
  18. For readers, I pick what I think my ds will enjoy making sure to include classics I don't want him to miss.
  19. So glad it's working for you!! This is our third year with HOD and we love it!
  20. We use and love HWT. I did move to smaller lined paper.
  21. You may have to accept that he may not be ready. He would be at the very bottom of the range for Preparing. Only the most advanced kids would succeed at that level.
