  1. Did they test him for diabetes when they did the bloodwork?
  2. I think seeing birth videos in school is great, as long as it's done in a positive, non-scary way.
  3. Dh and I talked about this last night. He said he doesn't ever remember not trick or treating as a teen. We took our 12 year old tonight and no one gave him a hard time about it. I think as long as you dress up, it's all good.
  4. What are everyone's children studying this week? I'm working on our lesson plans for this week while I eat cheesecake and play games on facebook. :) We'll be starting Story of the World Book 3, chapter 5. I'm hoping to finally get started on our Earth Science curriculum. The only science we've really done so far this year has been at 4-H. 12yods is starting Saxon Math 87, dd is working on Saxon 3 and 7yods is in Saxon Math 2. I need to do more math than I have been with 5yods. Everyone is still enjoying ixl.com 12yods and 9yodd will both keep working through their new Spectrum Spelling books. 7yods and 5yods have a reading class at the library on Wednesday; it's their second week going. Maybe, just maybe, I'll manage to get the second lesson in our Atelier art curriculum done.
  5. When we have a childcare person due to arrive at 12:30, I'm expecting them to be through the door by 12:29. The time that you were late because you were talking in the hallway, I think the thing to do would have been to tell the mom you were talking to that you needed to continue the conversation in the nursery.
  6. We used cloth with the older kids and I'm using the environmentally-friendlier sposies now.
  7. Today I watched a recording of a class on meconium and started reading ch. 6 in Orgasmic Birth.
  8. Have you started using xylitol? I got the kids xylitol gum and candy about a month ago.
  9. Have you checked with the church yourself about the price?
  10. Have you read Taking Charge of Your Fertility? There's also the FemCap. www.femcap.com
  11. We've lived in Maryland and NY and are now in Oregon. In all three places, it has been >1yr AND >20lbs.
  12. I've been on both sides. When I've had money and offered to pay, it wasn't because I wanted anyone to feel like a charity case. It was because I wanted them to go do things with us and paying for them to go meant I got to have them come.
  13. It's not that simple. Some babies lose a higher percentage, particularly when moms had IV fluids. She could express milk and feed it to the baby with a spoon or syringe to keep him hydrated.
