  1. If you try it and decide to stop, do you have to give the curriculum back?
  2. Definately count it. It sounds educational enough to me.
  3. Thank you beansprouts. With the books, did she just read them? Did you discuss them? Give me a picture for how that lesson went. We hadn't been, because of Pathway, but I own FLL and am ordering Primary Language Lessons.
  4. Ok, I get that with regular books, the kids can read whatever they want and the grade level is unimportant. But we do use curriculum for "reading" with homeschooling. We use the Amish Pathway readers. This year ds used the grade 2 readers and workbook. He does great with the actual reading and comprehension. He has a little trouble with the mechanics and grammar covered in the workbook, but then so I do (it's been a long time). The boy also read the whole Harry Potter series this year. He can read well. For the coming year, I need to decide whether to continue and get the third grade reader set or skip him to fourth grade in that. I'm leaning towards buying the fourth grade set, but am wondering if there's anything he'll miss if I do that. Oh, he'll be turning eight in October.
  5. I'd go with a groomer too. My mother in law does grooming, is great with animals, and doesn't make anywhere near $300.
  6. I've hit a "dry period" so to speak with science and am trying to come up with things to do. What are some other second graders here doing?
  7. Those of you who use RS4K, what do you like about it?
