  1. that just sucks all around. I'm sorry. Can you go to the nursery to spend time with him or are they not letting you move?
  2. me too. I also seem to be in the minority. Most people seem to think of lane change signals as an excuse to speed up and not let the signalling vehicle over. :glare:
  3. What a cutie!!! Congratulations. Prayers for a speedy recovery for you.
  4. I suspect I'm getting it for my birthday (next week) :lurk5:
  5. just seeing all this. So sorry. hugs.
  6. I saw that the other day too and thought it was very good. I fascinated by his personal journey as well as enjoyed learning about the different types of secular humanists. However, I was slightly miffed that, once again, the media trots takes a swipe at Christians during one of our most sacred seasons. Granted, it was tame in comparison to others I've seen (NPR did an article one year questioning the validity of historical Jesus - on Western Palm Sunday). I often wonder if people of other faiths have to put up with such articles around their sacred holidays?
  7. I love all these ideas. A friend on FB suggested Rosie from the Jetsons. I like that one too.
  8. I got a Roomba for Christmas. Yay! At registration it asked me for a name. insert teenaged angst....
  9. I was like that too. Loved my canister vacs but the last one we got broke a major component within 2yrs and we were looking at replacing again. I decided I was tired of them and willing to try something new. If you don't get a lot of feedback from this thread, I know this question has been asked more than once. You can do a search and get more information.
  10. We have a Shark Navigator Lift-Away and love it. Had it for a bit more than a year and it runs great. We've washed the filter 2x since getting it and that helps it too keep a good suction. I just got a Roomba for Christmas, so we'll be using the Shark less now.
  11. I keep wondering who these terrible pet sitters are too. My daughter just finished 2.5 days of dog walking. She hated every minute of it because the dog was an undisciplined purse dog and yapped and pulled during walks.... AND my dd got sick with a cold. But she did it 2x per day because *she agreed to do it*. I can't even fathom someone NOT doing it when they agreed to do it. Terrible. She'd love to do it more (with better disciplined dogs, of course), but I think most people in this area get professional walkers/sitters, so a college kid doing it on the side doesn't have a chance.
  12. honestly, I don't think it would be appropriate. It seems like it would be too easy to be hurt/offended by theology of that message. I think receiving a personal note from you would be much more meaningful. I also like the idea of sending a remembrance next year too. It will be doubly hard since the anniversary is so close to Christmas.
  13. hugs. I'm sorry it had to end that way. :grouphug:
  14. I saw it too. It's a informative movie, and definitely hard to watch at times. It is loosely based on L.Ron Hubbard and the beginnings of Scientology. I don't think the *movie* ever says it outright because there would have been repercussions. http://www.rogerebert.com/reviews/the-master-2012
  15. I didn't realize she was in those. I have never seen the PS version of A Christmas Carol, but my favorite one growing up was the George C. Scott version. Now I need to go look for it.
  16. or maybe it's prophetic! :scared:
  17. My daughter used to work in organ donation and we've been talking about Carrie a lot this weekend. I also expected we'd hear something early this week. Another younger daughter is very upset and her sister is acting like a know-it-all and isn't helping. Ahh, the joys of having people in the medical field in your family. I feel so bad for Debbie Reynolds. No mother should have to bury her child. May Carrie rest in peace.
