  1. Well living in a hot and humid climate (I previously lived in Texas)makes me really grouchy to be around.....does that count? :D
  2. We were just reading these tonight :D They are wonderful and my 7 year old loves them! Diane
  3. Just saw this....Keeping your DH in my prayers that he gets the job :grouphug: Diane
  4. I have seen Handymen advertised at about $25/hour. I think a gift certificate somewhere in the $25-$50 range would be very nice. HTH! Diane
  5. I just saw this :grouphug: Richard, his father and the entire family are in my thoughts and prayers. The entire situation breaks my heart :grouphug: to you for being there for Richard at this time. Diane
  6. Ouch! I hate car problems....especially around the Holidays! :grouphug: to you! Diane
  7. Wow, that doesn't sound like a pleasant experience at all. The place I had my hair colored when I lived in CO used to give me a head massage, a glass of wine to drink, a trashy magazine to read and a foot soak and then a parafin treatment for my hands while I was waiting....all that and the color was not a lot more expensive than what I would normally pay elsewhere. When you are paying that kind of money, you deserve more than what you got :grouphug: Diane
  8. I remember that card! It was hilarious...please post again :D Diane
  9. I love that book :D Read it out loud to my boys a few years ago....it always makes me cry at the end Diane
  10. Could you post a wish list on amazon (or some other website) with a list of things that you would need that would fit various budgets? That way you can get something you need and will use and he can spend the amount that he feels comfortable with. Good Luck :001_smile: Diane
  11. In my mind when I am reading the books Ranger looks like Dwayne Johnson (The Rock) . It will be strange to watch the movie and not see The Rock in that role! Diane
  12. What about a hot bubble bath with soft music/good book and a cool beverage of your choice (I prefer a pina colada or ice cold coke but that is just me ;)) Sometimes just taking a bit of time out to pamper myself really works wonders. Hope you feel better soon! Diane
  13. What about a gift certificate for a spa? Comfy pj's, soft socks, perfume, something you wouldn't buy for yourself? I didn't think I wanted anything for Christmas, but then really sat down and thought about the little luxuries I would like that I don't usually buy for myself...voila I had a list :D Diane
  14. On the 15th of May in the Jungle of Nool (sp?), in the heat of the day in the cool of the pool :D gotta love that Dr. Seuss!
  15. I love new adventures and all of the possibilities that come with it! Prayers for you and your DH and hope you can start the journey soon :D Diane
  16. This is actually a very timely topic in our household. DH is a Ph.d grad student who was taking 9 credit hours and GA'ing and grading exams/papers for two other classes last year while also trying to study for his comprehensive exams. He became ill (low energy, exhausted all the time) he went to the doctor they ran all kinds of blood work and his red blood cell count was low. They referred him to the local cancer center here for additional bloodwork. Results, undetermined. This year DH is taking only 2 classes....that is it. Today he went back to the doctor for follow-up and all blood work came back perfectly normal :D We were both talking about it today and believe that the stress of the past few years really took it's toll on him and caused his body to begin shutting down. It is amazing the difference in his energy levels, concentration, attitude this year without all of that stress. Now I just need to work on my stress.....:tongue_smilie:
  17. Eddie Bauer has 30% off plus free shipping. I bought my best friend cashmere gloves and a scarf for Christmas, not something that would typically fall into my under $75 price range. Diane
  18. I am a pretty tense person and so even when I am relaxed (4) I can move instantly up to a 10-12 if something puts my day out of whack (last minute project due for a client, notice of houseguests and my house is a mess, etc.). I like to be able to plan for things, and when those plans go awry, so do I :tongue_smilie: Diane
