  1. Is anyone else having a problem getting into the Social groups here on the board? It's a Dr. Who day around here (we watch it via apple itunes download a day after it airs) and I can't get on the Tardis social group to discuss :D Help! Diane
  2. We are a dessert family over here and typically have a dessert after dinner every night (ice cream, smoothie, cookies etc.).
  3. I had to wear headgear at night when I had braces and it does take awhile to get used to it. The inside of my cheeks and lips would get raw, ah those were the days :glare: Is it her teeth that are aching or is it the edges of her lips and inside of her mouth? I used to put a little bit of cotton between the mouth brace and the corner of my mouth and that helped quite a bit. :grouphug: to your daughter....it is no fun! Diane
  4. Have you looked at Marshall's or Ross? I am not quite sure about maternity dresses, but I did see long, flowing dresses there and sometimes you can find really good deals on the clearance rack. HTH! Diane
  5. I find that it is best to take the advice that is helpful and leave the rest behind. :grouphug: to you! Diane
  6. That was my favorite movie when I was a teen...and that scene was my favorite....love that song that is playing as well. Diane ETA: I also like the kissing scene (final scene) in Sixteen Candles....that actor was so handsome
  7. :iagree: Our favorite around here as well....."I do believe in fairies! I do! I do!" :D

  9. Thank you!!!! I saw your post and my DH went out right away and managed to get 6 comic books for the boys to enjoy today. Whoo Hoo!!! Diane
  10. :iagree: Lasagne was my first thought as well, though we typically do garlic bread instead of biscuits. Diane
  11. I love Trader Joe's....Lucky you! I also hear that certain parts of Dallas are going to get an IN-N-OUT soon as well. Makes me ALMOST want to live there again :D Diane
  12. :iagree: with PP, something feels "off" when you have to pay $300 for a job opportunity. Best wishes on your DH job search! Diane
  13. I am so sorry to hear this! I really enjoyed watching her play Sarah Jane in the Tom Baker years. Diane
  14. Bummer! I got all excited and then saw that Jim Carey was playing in it.....won't be going to see it now :glare: Diane
  15. I hate when that happens, though I am happy to say it doesn't happen very often....probably because of my response when it does happen :D I now at least try to make sure that the entryway to my house is embarrassment proof. :grouphug: Diane
  16. I didn't like Will Ferrell either until I saw him in Stranger than fiction. He is wonderful in that ! Diane
  17. You can still see it on hulu.com ! They show the last five episodes for free :D
  18. I will be keeping you and your son in my daily prayers. :grouphug: Diane
  19. :grouphug: I am so sorry you are going through this. I will pray that it is your thyroid and your doctor can adjust the medication. You have gone through so much this year, my hope and prayer for you is that there will be a light at the end of this dark tunnel :grouphug:
  20. "Can you hear the people sing..." :D I love Les Miserables and would go if a traveling company came to town to perform it. I saw this at the Dallas summer musical series a LONG time ago (18 years ago?) and truly enjoyed it. Diane
  21. I had gestational diabetes as well when I was pregnant with my second child. Some of the things I did: Cut out all pasta, rice, and white bread Ate LOTS of peanut butter (helped with sugar cravings)...to this day my son won't eat PB at all...probably because I ate so much when pregnant with him :D No juices/softdrinks/smoothies etc at all! I only drank water & milk I regulated my sugar snacks strictly (1 serving of gingersnaps or nilla wafers a day) this helped me ease into the strict diet and allowed me to have a "treat" everyday. After following the above I found that I actually felt better, only gained about 20lbs that pregnancy, and actually couldn't stand the taste of things high in sugar (co-workers threw a shower for me and insisted that I have a piece of the cake they bought me :glare:) I had one bite and couldn't eat anymore it was so UNBELIEVABLY sweet. I wish that I had stayed on that diet after giving birth. I have a big sweet tooth and it is hard for me to stay away from juices, sodas, desserts etc. Best wishes for you and a healthy pregnancy!!! Diane
