  1. This might need its own thread: Does anyone know of a way to color the pages in the ebooks? I'm thinking of my K child who is not a fan of coloring but likes colored pages. Sure I can color them for him...but I don't want to. Any ideas?
  2. A friend on another board mentioned that if you have over 10 items and are willing to fight the timeout/crashing/whatever Scholastic is calling it. You can create a second order and use the coupon birthday50 for 50% off your total order. I refuse to poke around the Scholastic site since it is so broken, but thought maybe someone here would benefit from the additional savings.
  3. I was able to place my order (all $1 items) and use the coupon code without any issue. And since my total was $0, I didn't have to give any credit card info either.
  4. Wanted to bump this up and say most of the suggestions of nestof3's thread are now $1 http://www.welltrainedmind.com/forums/showthread.php?t=308677&highlight=scholastic also the 10THANKS coupon works on $1 sale items.
  5. Nope. The days when my dh are home we do do formal school things, usually take advantage of of his long weekend and head out somewhere.
  6. I buy our pouches from Sam's as well 200 sheets for about $18. I actually like them more than the Scotch brand for what we use them for at our house.
  7. Do you have a few friends or belong to a local list in which you can do a Activities in a Bag swap?
  8. I'm was wondering if anyone is actively using the PDF by Hand version of Peterson Handwriting actively and if you could share how that was going? I found TOS reviews, but it is hard to tell if they are still using them as part of the routines or they were just doing a quick review. We have a tablet and thought this would be something to try.
  9. Singapore and later this school year I will be adding in some Keys to... books.
  10. Try this: In Weekly planner hit New from the menu. Choose assignment. Fill in the info you would like. Then click on copy. (if it is the same for both kids choose both of them) Choose Repeat over date Range Choose the option (copy the same thing over and over or auto increment) Then on the right choose the days you want to do this on. (M-F, or once a week) Select your date range Hit preview And if you like it hit submit. There are many ways input info into HST. I usually create a lesson plan then input things, but you can also do it the way I explain above for an activity you are pretty much doing the same way over a period of time. Did I make that as clear as mud?
  11. What about Aesop's Fables or something like the ValueTales books.
  12. Thank you for the post, I could find any of the Horrible Histories and after reading your post went over to Angela's blog and clicked a link. For those who have used it in the past, are things always this hard to find?
  13. I just found some old 3rd edition textbooks in my storage box (1a-3b) do you know of a place that still sells 3rd Edition workbooks?
  14. Yes, but it is the basic (which does include Elementary Spanish according to the list).
  15. This deal only includes Discovery Streaming. Discovering Streaming Plus (which HSBC offers) has more videos than regular Discovery Streaming.
  16. We start tomorrow. I have most plans printed. I do see that I need to get some kind of weekday folder for my K'ers things. I am so excited to be getting back into normal routine time.
  17. I thought I bookmarked a post about scheduling but I can't find it. I would like to have this last 2 years like the book suggests. We are using Hake's grammar portion as well as the Kilgallon Sentence Composing. Any suggestions?
  18. "That would be a good idea", said HootyTooty. "I much prefer the study guides", said HootyTooty's son.
  19. "You must really love your kids" "I can't do it, I hate being around my kids all the time, I obviously don't love them enough".
  20. admit it, you (general) have gone through this thread saying or, fore, and four to see if you can hear the difference. I refuse to believe I am the only one.
  21. Do you have a decent library? We did physics last year with a list of books (that included experiments) and the internet(I used a lot of Bill Nye videos). If you would like I can PM you the scope I used last year. It has a lot of things I didn't use on it (like the TOPS) but it went over really well here.
  22. For those who are using it for History for 4th & 5th, I found the Time Travelers series to be a great great for Revolution through Civil War years.
