  1. I bought in even though I know he will lose a lot. The savings, especially if the 100+ is met would be such a savings to us. I coming from the approach that 1) It will be review for him and 2) he has gotten very frustrated lately and doesn't want to play. I think starting over again might give him a chance to enjoy it again.
  2. With ds1 we used: Explode the Code until the bitter end (there were a lot of errors in book 8 of the copy I had) SM since it was third edition with Earlybird we were at the cusp when the program kept changing editions. So he has done something in each edition. Grammar portion of Hake grammar and will probably continue. Logic Safari and Logic Lift off books. With ds2, I don't think I want to use the same materials since he is such a different child than his brother.
  3. If you scroll down there seems to be a link about additional students ($39.57)
  4. It's here! https://www.homeschoolbuyersco-op.org/index.php?option=com_hsbc_epp_order&Itemid=1696&c=1
  5. We use EasyTech. I feel like I really dropped the ball on teaching computer literacy to my older son. It is a nice gentle introduction. He likes it and it gets the job done. While some of the journal projects are geared more at a classroom setting, we have been able to adapt a lot of ideas to a single user format.
  6. From what I have seen on the Yahoo Group you can purchase the workbooks.I believe they are £3.00 each and they will ship to the US (but I don't know how much the shipping fee is)
  7. Here is the link to the thread I think you were referencing that has some of the details of the deal: http://www.welltrainedmind.com/forums/showthread.php?t=350728
  8. That was me. :D It was in a newsletter I received the same day I posted the thread. I was hoping since March was Math month, the deal would be there but it isn't . I wonder if it really is "in the bag".
  9. With my first we only used Singapore up until 5 and then I added in Key to... With my second, I am thinking about breaking up with Singapore (this child is not a big writer/needs a little more rep but rocks at mental math) and trying RightStart with MM.
  10. I think, I'm leaning toward WWS but I wish I could find a plan B just in case.
  11. Does anybody know what series this was based from in Singapore? And if there is a corresponding series that continues similarly? I used the Primary series with my older dc, but I like how how Essentials flows and am looking for something similar. Maybe it doesn't exist?
  12. You almost sound so firm in your decision. ;) I think AoPs is giving me grass is greener syndrome. I think I need to put some shutters on and keep my SM.
  13. We did LfC A last year, I bought the entire set and my ds (who was in grade 4) was miserable. He liked it but he retained nothing and he was also playing the online games too. This year, I went back to Lively Latin (something I bought years ago) and it has been a hit. He has remembered so much and is having fun with it. He said the way it is presented makes more sense to him than how LfC was presented.
  14. We tried Writing Strands before Jump In. Jump in was such a great start for my dc, I just wish there was a followup level (or 4)
  15. I guess they changed their mind from when a bunch of us emailed them a few weeks back. That is the good news, the bad news is you can't carry over an existing account. :( This was in the newsletter the emailed out today.
  16. I'm looking ahead for next year and wondering what others have used after this program (he will be in gr. 6 next year but is working a year ahead in LA). Would something like WWS level 1 be too redundant?
  17. ds has been patiently waiting for this to come out. I figure we will go out as a family this weekend and watch.
  18. :iagree:THis is the way I had to go about finding a Human Body book for pre-k when my youngest was interested in body things and wanted a "big boy book". It is a long and annoying way to get it done, but you can find most things this way.
  19. I just went through this yesterday. So you have my sympathies. In our case, it was 90 minutes ant 8 questions. :glare: We called it a day before my head exploded mathwise and came back to it today.
  20. I would not be surprised, people started to post the codes on couponing sites.
  21. If you do not see your date extend be sure to hit refresh.
  22. I emailed them in December. I think the more people that email them the better. Right now we are doing the monthly subscription for $13.
  23. I once emailed HSBC about this and they said there was not enough people who had showed interest so they didn't pursue trying to get a discount.
