  1. "Asher" is the Hebrew for "the feeling of being blessed." Not simply, being blessed, but feeling blessed. I went to a Beth Moore conference w. my best friend this past summer and she spoke about "asher". It struck a definitive chord in me. :) I am blessed. Everything around me is a true blessing and I do feel that way, finally, after feeling the opposite for so long.
  2. So, prior to the first 1/2 of 2nd grade, you don't teach grammar? (I hope I'm not hj'ing the thread, sorry cowgirl).
  3. I'm so intrigued by writing my own curriculum as I haven't found one I absolutely *LOVE*. :lurk5:
  4. This would be my suggestion, too :)
  5. I would love to get a Sigg, but they're so expensive, too. :tongue_smilie:I hear that REI Outlet online sometimes has them on clearance, though, so I'm keeping a look out.
  6. This was my dd, now 3.5. She didn't fully learn to use the potty until about 3 months ago. I tried stickers, candy, new panties, praise, everything. So, I started to set the timer for every 2 or 2.5 hours and remind her to use the potty when it would go off. Ultimately, it came down to her choosing to do it. Also, I had to fully get rid of the pull ups because if she had them on, she would just go in them.
  7. When my dc's are rude or back talk, I usually say "Try that again" or "Excuse me?" They then usually repeat what they were saying in a more respectful way, or I help by repeating what they have just said in a way I would prefer to hear it.
  8. I heard great reviews from them on another forum. I'm due for another prescription, so I will be giving them a try. :)
  9. From literally the 1st trimester on, I was in utter pain & the chiropractor was a life saver! She even cured my ds of his ear infections! Nevertheless, I honestly believe I would not have been as sane during pregnancy 2 had it not been for my chiro. :)
  10. :iagree: This was a life saver. :)
  11. wooden blocks. :) my ds loved them at this age. knex. duplos.
  12. I was a member, but I found that I could find really great classical children's books for a much better deal, either @ the library or through Paperbackswap.com or abesbooks.com I think there's a better deal to be sought elsewhere :)
  13. I felt very "caught" particularly during the winter. Now, when I am home, I feel the pull of gardening. :) I know this doesn't help. :P
  14. (((hugs))) I pray that your ILs begin to heal soon. I guess "lighten your mood" would be subjective... :)
  15. Wow, praise God! I'm so glad everyone was okay. (((hugs))) My grandpa was killed by a drunk driver almost 20 years ago & the guy got probation. :(
  16. Whoa, Regena! You gotta love this board!
  17. :iagree: Suggestions: Finding Your Way Through the Bible For the Layman: Survey of the Old Testament rainbowresource.com has both these books :)
  18. I'm really having to refrain from diving headlong into schooling my 4 yo. She's very interested, but I don't want to make it too rigid for her. I agree w. the other posters that the formal learning process can wait.
