  1. My hubby is interested in a Keurig coffee maker. I've searched their website and am interested as well since we like different strengths of coffee. My coffee needs to stand at attention and salute while his just needs to meander along. If any hive members have Keurigs, fill me in on your experiences. I'm trying to narrow down which one will work for us (I drink about 4-5 cups a day) and would appreciate user's opinions. Thanks!
  2. Us, too. The kids have been CRANKY. DD2 is teething and getting 4 in at one time. Sleep isn't happening. Add in the time change and I'M CRANKY as well. Since last night was an all-nighter with teething girl, I let all the kids sleep til 7am. It was nice. I dozed and listened to the radio til everybody woke up. Usually, the kids are up at 5/5:15am so sleeping until 7:30am for 2 ds's was delightful. It usually takes us about a week to get back on track. For some reason, I think this year it might take longer. It just feels off more than usual.
  3. :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: (I'm going to cut and paste this in an email to my hubby. We slog through this same quagmire every year. Even when I give him a list of the answers to his questions. If he doesn't like my answers, he keeps asking so I'll change my mind. Except we live in the deep south so we have a few more options for my fall birthday.)
  4. :party::party::party::hurray::hurray: Heartiest congratulations!!!!!!!!
  5. Mine flairs up when I have problems with my posture (i.e.-sitting wrong in a chair, sitting at odd angles). I find that sitting on the floor and stretching to my toes (I can't think of the name for this stretch due to incomplete caffeination) helps.
  6. Sounds like my 6 year old. He can't be quiet ever, even in his sleep.:glare: And he mostly prefers to use his British accent (gee, thanks, Kipper and Thomas).
  7. We just rented 3 when we moved out of our house. We had a lot of junk to get rid of. We rented a 10yd for $125. We paid when they dropped it off and called them when we needed them to come get it. We used 2 up until the move and another one a month later for dh to finish the last of the removal of our junk (and the previous owner's junk as well). We were able to put anything and everything in it. With my dh being a packrat/wanna-be fixer-upper, we had a lot of junk he "rescued" from his job as a trash man at the beach. I highly recommend calling around and getting pricing. The dumpsters come in several different sizes and prices.
  8. I LOVE the Satin Hands! I use it on my feet as well. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it!
  9. Well, it must be a boy thing. My 4 year old has an amazing ability to change the wall color on an almost-daily basis. I think it's time he scrubbed it for me. Thanks for the tips. My 6 year old is fine but he refuses to stand, only sit, when using the toilet. And then there was the day my 4 year old discovered he could make patterns on the neighbor's brick fence when he tee-tee'd......that is in the front yard next to the street.....:eek::ohmy:
  10. ***being snarky***...your children. And their firstborn. Hugs to you as you slog through this. I can't even imagine having to do all that paperwork.
  11. Thanks! We really loved it and the Brady Bunch-ness of it. It looked like a tornado dropped it from California into coastal GA.
  12. You can also spray that area with vinegar. It will kill the grass and weeds. You'll need to amend the soil or top it once the grass is dead. The vinegar will break down in about a month so it won't harm the new plants/seeds.
  13. Praying for Wolf and for y'all. :grouphug:
  14. Great! If y'all become light keepers, let us know how it goes. I've been wanting to go to Rose Island for many years.
  15. [quote name= Right now we're trying to get the old house ready to go on the market. But' date=' my realtor wants to turn our Ford house into a Cadillac house. She wanted us to spend 75K to get the house ready. Is she insane??! I think I'm going to come in under 20K as there really were some glaring problems that needed addressing. oh and then a week after we moved out the HVAC died. :glare: And then we had a pre-sale home inspection and discovered a crack down our chimney. :glare::glare: One of the bad things about living in a home for nearly 20 yrs is you really do live with a lot of problems without paying attention to them. Sigh. It makes me feel bad for not being a better home owner, which then adds to my guilt about ripping my son away from the old neighborhood (even though there weren't really a lot of friends, etc. etc.). [/quote] I feel your pain as quoted above. We lived in our last house for 5 years and bought it intending to fix it up. Two years into owning it, DH lost his job so we went into survival mode, which meant no working on the house other than repairs to keep it habitable. We lived with a lot of problems that we now have to possibly deal with and I'm dreading it. We still don't have much money to put into it so we're praying for someone willing to buy it "as-is" or as a fixer-upper. I wish I'd had more energy to do many of the inexpensive fixes but having 3 more children during the 5 years we owned it limited my abilities to do more than duct tape the problems. Add hubby working 80+ hours a week for min wage and we're stuck. Thankfully, our realtor is willing to work with us on getting it ready to sell as we can afford it rather than dropping serious money to get more work done. Here's hoping all of us that need/want our houses to sell get nice, workable contracts this spring.
  16. We're trying to sell our house. Unfortunately, no one wants a fixer-upper, mid-century modern ranch near the beach. People want a completely, totally, looks-brand-new, mid-century modern ranch near the beach for pennies on the dollar. And we're asking below market value, below everything but foreclosure value. Just what we need to pay off the mortgage. New roof, new plumbing, new paint, garden, blueberry bushes, tile and carpet throughout, tree fort with attached slide and swings, 10x15 kitchen, low maintenance yard (small but fenced). I'm praying someone will want to buy it. We get tons of calls about people wanting to rent it but nobody wants to buy it. One guy called wanting to buy the tree fort (that wraps around the 100 year old water oak) and play equipment if we'd remove it for him.:confused:
  17. Break a leg! We'll be thinking about y'all and sending prayers your way for a freakishly successful day.
  18. Rose Island, RI has a program. http://www.roseislandlighthouse.org/weeklong_keepers.html
  19. I have the joy of being the only one in my household who can put dirty things into a receptacle for such things. Dirty clothes magically fall into the hamper at the snap of my fingers. Empty cracker bags and unused, off-the-roll paper towels quickly succumb to "The Look" by jumping into the trash can. What can I say? DH married a freak of nature.:rofl::coolgleamA:
