  1. LOL! I have to laugh, because you have ELEVEN children and someone actually asked you to give a mooch $500 right before the holidays? Are you kidding? Heck to the No! Sorry, but no, no, no, NO WAY! And don't feel a bit guilty. She being enabled.
  2. what kind of quote is that, lol! Ah, I thought the SOF was non-denominational. I'd check. Also I don't care for their science, Apologia, either, but you can register for whatever classes you want. Blue Ridge Christian Academy is VERY home school friendly. They have once a week classes and classes that meet 2-3 times per week. We're Catholic too, O was baptised at St. Mary's but we go to a Protastant church now, that is very RMC, weird and a long story. I'm still Catholic;) All sacrements and 7 yrs of awesome C-school! Yep, those MS girls can be brutal if you still want to play! Well, I have a 4 & 6 yr old so they would definitely veto just hanging out listening to me talk! Are you all headed there today?
  3. Aimee, Greenville Classical may be an option. I know it's out there, but they enroll 7th grade up in the university model which is 3 days a week. I have friends going there who are very happy with it. St. Mary's goes through 8th as well, but you all are at POP right? My older 2 may take a couple of classes at Blue Ridge CA next fall. Olivia is a late Sept birthday and has always been the youngest as well. She is always with kids a full year ahead, sometimes more. I see some issues socially at times, but I think it could be personality, aka she's reserved. Academically she's fine, but my dd2 is almost 4.5 and operating at the same level as dd1 was a 2.75. She's a late July and was 2 weeks early and very tiny at 5lbs. I think it's the kid sometimes and Autumn may be just be math/science kid. As far as social/maturity, I think homeschooled kids are just different than ps because they aren't as hardened by all the social junk. They come across as younger, sweeter, and more innocent, at least I see this in the girls. We should get coffee at the B & N one Tues!
  4. I love my ipad, love Apple, but no way would I get a mini. Jobs was against a smaller ipad. Get a kindle fire if you decide against the ipad 3. M dh loves his KF.
  5. I can't believe the amount of snickers I get to eat;) we are doing a special Halloween lunch and they get to eat "some" of the safe candy.
  6. Actually I don't have many worries about my oldest, she is maturing before my eyes and I'm encouraging and enjoying it. My other 2 are still young enough that there *strong* personalities are still forming. I was a "good" teen, but my parents didn't parent me, I did what I wanted and was good at not being caught, not quite the same future for my sweeties.:D My dh is also awesome with that age, he was a college prof and has oodles of patience. I think it will be fun, I'm not looking forward to diapers again.
  7. Aimee, which app do you all have? The paid or free one? We have all 3 SOS books, by I want it coincide with the history. In 6th grade we'll do Human Odessey& Aritstotle.
  8. I did get some papaya/mint ones and they did help. The last ones I picked up are not as effective.
  9. Lol, yep! I'll be menopausal so it should be a blast!
  10. Ack! I'm constantly battling it his pg. I had it with ds and could usually determine what foods were bothering me, but water is bothering me! Any suggestions for relief???
  11. Well I did this foR my dd and it worked. I had several WTM Moms pm me about. Not too flashy though.

  13. Just want to say :grouphug: I was a teen who wasn't parented and it really sucked. I had to do everything for myself and while it did make me stronger, it took me a LOT longer to get things figured out. I wish I had great parents like you all! My dd2 and ds scare me. I hope I can guide them into the future and they don't rebel too much.
  14. I know it seems early, but once we get into our groove I start planning the next year. Also, I will have a new baby in April and will not have to time to think about the following year until it's upon me so I want lists and curriculum bought and planned before then. I have a good idea, but want to hear what you all are doing and any recs for biology for a science girl. I'm leaning toward CPO and lots of labs. TIA!
  15. My dd called it *bumping* when she was little and it stuck around here and we love it.
  16. After I had my ds at 33, I started to have increased greys. With my dd at 30 there were a few, then dd2 at 35 and it was necessary to start coloring every 3-4 months. Now I color crown and temples every 3 mos with natural henna type color. I'll be 40 with a newborn so until I have a grandkid or turn 60, whichever comes first, I'm coloring.
  17. Yep, but do see if he wants a new instrument.
  18. Have you guys ever used WWE? For an auditory learner, it's great because you can read it aloud to her. She also learns how to form sentences in her mind which is key to good writing. It also teaches summary VERY well.
  19. Hmm, unfortunately from what you are saying, I think she burned you on this one. Sorry:( I would definitely submit a review.
  20. Yay! Great news! I just started feeling movement today:)
  21. If they only took one class and you immediately contacted te teacher with the problem, you should have been given at least half of each tuition. She still would be up $200 for letting two kids sit in a class, ONCE and do nothing.
  22. I would think annoying thoughts about them, but hey it's their weirdness not mine. I also grew up next to the most TACKY OVER-THE-TOP holiday decorators ever, but were also the SWEETEST PEOPLE, just really enjoyed all that stuff most of us abhor.
